0/61 off 8 overs

56 of those runs in boundaries.

Bowlers have no chance on this pitch/ground. It really all comes down to relying on batsmen miscuing and even then some will still go for 6.

One, maybe 2 of the 6s may be 4s, elsewhere, but the boundaries would be boundaries anywhere. Even that Guptil over mid on shot from the inside of the bat. Theyre not hitting over boundary riders, yet.

Time for Nicholls to show his mettle.

Don't think NZ commentators need to laugh about Khawaja not playing. Says more about Aus's batting strength than anything else.

Southee, Meclenaghan and half of Boult - that combination is a fair loss...

Wow, lot of eggs in the Starc basket

There is but i feel like he is shaping up to be a generational talent as a bowler. Its very hard to replace that. He is a year or two from probably his prime and as broad has show supporting a bowler with obvious raw talent can pay off.

We have good bowlers around him mind. I just wish they wouldnt get injured all the time lol but fast bowling is hard work

Brilliant knock from the world's best bat. Let's see if Hunry Knuckles can do any better. Wait, he already has.

Starc is lethal at closing odi's but if Pattinson stays fit he could be the next Dale Steyn.

I love watching Pattinson bowl. He is brilliant.

Lacking a bit of x factor with his new style but yes he has buckets of talent too. As does hazlewood obviously but he isnt the type of bowler that makes people excited lol.

Hopefully one of them reaches their ceiling

He reverted back to old school.

Love that decision too. Shows a Shane Bond hunger for wickets, and a long medicre career be damned. All or nothing. I hope it works for him.

Hazelwood is effective and smart bowling, especially for tests, but Patto will run through a lot of teams better than Broad and turn games on their head.

As you'd expect, the double strike has taken the wind out of the NZ innings. Hopefully Guptill presses on and Nicholls can impress.
