I'd rather Ivan MilatI'd rather Mitch Marsh bat No. 3 for Australia than let Warner back in the side.
You can look at them more closely and they become less impressiveI get Warner isn't the most likeable bloke going around but his numbers cannot be disputed
Prior to the sandpaper incident, people were already talking about the need to move Warner on on account on the effect he was having on the team. He was embroiled in speculation about a locker room rift. Nah- time to move on Australia.
Smith, back in.
Bancroft, maybe.
Warner, never.
I was thinking Ashton Agar
This is the vice captain who coerced a younger team mate to cheat and has shown no contrition about it.I get Warner isn't the most likeable bloke going around but his numbers cannot be disputed
Yeah. The coach needs to start managing his behaviour and he needs to grow the f**k up but he deserves to play based on previous performances over a long period of time compared to all the other options.I get Warner isn't the most likeable bloke going around but his numbers cannot be disputed

Yeah, but that's Australian cricket in a nutshell isn't it?
Think about someone like Katich - he was batting for his career every time he walked out to the middle despite how good he was. Khawaja has spent most of his career on his last chance. But guys like Marsh can average single digits for a season but the selectors retain him.
The old saying 'class is temporary, form is permanent' springs to mind. The problem is that the selectors tend to assign 'class' to their mates, and 'form' to blokes they don't really want in the side.
Smith is a spineless little prick. That merkin was the captain so if anyone cops more punishment it should be him.
OK- personally, I think he's a pretty sublime batsman and he carried Australia's batting lineup single-handedly for some time.
His behaviour earlier in the series towards De Kock was absolutely f**ked. Even worse as a VC.
Lol yeah good oneSure, if you've got a preconceived idea that he's a flat track bully

Alison Mitchell sounding great again. Channel 9 really f**ked up not signing her last couple summers.
He shouldn't have been burdened with the captaincy TBHObviously we will likely never know the whole truth of it, but a lot of the chat has changed to "he didn't even know". Which is absolutely a failure of leadership in itself, but honestly I think you bring Smith straight back in. He just never captains Australia again.
