Cummins and Pattinson, epic two headed monster to open the bowling for us for the next decade (when they're not being rested thanks to our stupid resting policy).

Also, thanks Kiwi top order for going full tard AGAIN, being mentally weak, and making me look stupid.

I need Vettori to do what he did in his 1st dig and then some to look smart.

At least it looks like we'll bat again. Which is good. I want Warner/Hughes/Khawaja to get more time in the middle. Hopefully they get a 100 run lead so our young top order has something to do.

Warner missed his first test wicket, just terrible.

Having said that lol Bunniesman. Do you still think 5 sessions isn't enough.

I still think Hazlewood is a better bowler then those two although Pattinson has showen he has genuine ability and has been able to move the ball pretty consistently and even in the first innings McCullum played him well but was luck early because a lot of those boundaries could have easily gone to hand. I think Pattinson is a good new ball bowler but he seams to bowl to short with the older ball and he has to learn to continue to bowler fuller. While I was unsure about Cummins being picked, he showed that when the ball was older and doing a lot less he still held his line and length.

Starc on the other hand is rubbish, bowling way to much crap and ATM he is no better then Johnson. Cutting was unlucky not to be picked but in the future I see Hazelwood, Cummins, Pattinson and Cutting leading the way and Starc has a long behind those 4 in development. Starc wickets were very johnson-equest in that they were wickets from bad shots rather then good bowling compared to Pattinson that forced the batsmen forward and playing away from their body with his movement.

Lyon has bowled very well too, excellent flight and can genuinely rip it. I must say I still think all 5 bowlers I have mentioned are 2 seasons away from consistent test cricket level, Pattinson, Lyon and Cummins have started brightly but I can see them all struggling at some point over the next 2 years

I don't like comparing Johnson to Starc. They are both left handers and inconsistent. That is pretty much where the similarity ends. As I said before Bollinger used to be a lot like Starc, he used to be wayward but gets very upright, unlike Johnson who slings it and has no evidence of being able to consistently swing it and can't even bring the seam out upright, something a 10 year old can do.

Starc has potential but definitely well behind a few of the others. But he has better raw ability than Johnson who should be in the prime of his career and is still bowling fruit.

The frustrating thing for a Kiwi would be that this clearly isnt the worst lineup they've had. They no longer have the Redmonds, How's and Fulton that were genuinely terrible players. Ryder and Taylor in particular are pretty talented batsmen, but need to get their mindset sorted out before they become the best batsmen they can be.

Brownlie is looking pretty good as is Vettori. I wonder if Williamson should be coming in down the order though, 21 year old batting at three is a lot of pressure and whilst he's very talented he has looked edgy this test.

Probably right that Williamson should have stayed at 5 or 6... but he's the real deal... I think he's overrawed by playing Aust in Aust...

Taylor should hang his head to be honest, no question of his talent... but one of the more brainless people to play the game, why he's captain is beyond me...

Pattinson looks decent, but still remains that aside from Williamson in the first innings, and McCullum and Guptill in 2nd, we have pretty much handed our wickets over on a plate... disgraceful effort, but not terribly surprising

I feel sorry for Vettori, a bit like how Chappelli said it. He does too much for the team. He copped some flack as captain but how is Ross Taylor doing? Ryder is talented but is a little Mark Cosgrove esqe in that he gets out so softly.

Why did Vettori lose the captaincy? Why did kiwis think anyone else could do a better job than their best player?
