If there was 10,000 people at the SFS tonight I will deadset eat my hat. There were 4,000 there at the most, the place was empty and the Roosters shouldn't have a team in a national competition. What an embarrassment.

Were you there?

Parramatta played away to Manly last year on Friday night.

The Mothers Day Massacre in 2007 was at the SFS when the Roosters hosted the Titans in front of just 6246 soldiers.

Am I think 2006 then? Parra v Canberra in front of 8k

Nice work pulling the stats though!

Mothers day tends to work against the crowds and cause a lot of panic about attendances!

Nope, 06 was Dogs v Parra at Telstra with 13k turning up.

It would've been 2005 - Eels v Cowboys at Parra in front of 8051

Hold on, you're comparing Saturday 7:30 matches in Sydney with a marquee match which showcased a GF replay on a FRIDAY night? Why do you bother?
2 Saturday Night games in a NRL mad town yeah and the Storm had an AFL game to contend with the night of the GF rematch and we still managed to get a good crowd without any advertising well at least none that I saw also to both of the games on Saturday Night you should've got at least 14,000.

 There was quite a bit of advertising for that game. Stick to what you know (i.e. nothing).

Round 9
SFS 10,241
ANZ 10,257
DFS 17,065
Suncorp 27,469
ANZ 16,313
OP 10,624

Total: 91,969
Average: 15,328

Do you live in a cave or something?
I live in New Zealand and saw advertising for it, there was the big WoManly controversial ad.

Great stuff. Even if they aren't a huge drawing team, lifting their base helps the comp average out just as much.

It is brilliant stuff. Very good to have Mothers Day round with no sub-10k crowd although I still have my doubts about the Roosters and their possible use of the union calculator.

This week:

12-14,000 @ Parra
20,000 @ Skilled
11-13,000 @ Toyota
8-10,000 @ ANZ
12,000 @ Gosford
11,000 @ CUA
17,000 @ EAS
11,000 @ Canberra

Average - 13,000ish.

Hard to gauge this week.

Queensland fans whinging about crowds down here = boring.

YOU DON'T HAVE NINE TEAMS IN THE MARKET!

Statistics show that the three-club median average is astronomically higher in Sydney than it is in QLD, a fact being ignored continously.
What's a three-club median average? Do tell.

I worked out the sums somewhere. It's simple, add the club averages up for each state and divide by three, i.e. an even average as if there were three teams in each state.

The nine clubs in and around Metropolitan Sydney have their averages added up, and then divided by three.

The three clubs in Queensland have their averages added up, then divided by three.

As of last week, so far in 2008, NSW comes out with a 49,000 per game for each of the hypothetical three teams, whereas QLD's three teams combined then averaged equate to an average of 26,000.

There are so many factors that differ even in that argument to disprove it but it shows you just how many more people actually do attend RL in Sydney - it simply looks worse on a per-club basis because we have far more clubs

It's still not good enough according to you lot but I stand by it.

So let me get this straight, just so there's no mistake. You add up the crowd averages for nine teams, divide by three and compare it to the crowd averages for three teams. Is that what you're saying?

I used to know what a median is but it's a long time ago. I'm pretty sure that's not it, just another piece of bumfluff Three Dads has picked out of his arse.

Any Brainac types out there who can tell us whether Dummah has any mathematical basis for this? I rather suspect not.
