Its not about having the 2 best centres of the modern era, its about picking the 2 best centres available to NSW. If they are both left centres then so be it. We shouldnt be considering left and right, just considering who is the best to have on the paddock

I really don't think it's such a stupid idea. He could use a haircut sure.
But I couldn't give a rats arse if he had the worlds worst euro mullet as long as he could get the job done.

I don't think Matt King could be any worse than Gasnier was last series. In the end, we could have put a wheelbarrow at right centre and it would have provided Uate more ball and defended more solidly.

Gasnier was so woeful last year, a complete passenger - having a half decent centre could have won us the series.

i just can't fathom how his name even comes into calculations. Jennings, Jmoz and Hayne at the very least have to all be about 100 miles in front.

i agree with the comments on Gaz, he couldn't be any worse with the ball... but is that really enough to pick someone for origin? "well, he couldn't be any worse than the complete dope we had last year". makes no sense to me. King doesn't even enter my mind... would barely be in front of Tahu, if at all.

That's not what i'm saying at all, that Kings selection would be justified by Gasniers horrible series.

I'm simply reminding everyone that anyone we pick this year will be an approvement on what Gaz offered last year.

And Gasnier good in defence last series? He was a speed bump. Inglis ran for 15 metres everytime he ran at him. Average defence at best.

yeah, no problem with that at all. we'll almost certainly be better served this year.

In the context of the games it was. When you're conceding huge metres up the middle and Thurston and Inglis targeting your edge one can only do so much. I don't know how many centres could've done a better job defensively tbh.

Did we concede huge metres up the middle for 50 minutes of game 1 and 70 minutes of game 2? No we did not.

Gasnier was useless. Scott would of been just as bad ball in hand but at least would have put inglis on his ass a couple of times.

Do you want to find out in Origin if someone is no good at a position?

Sure J Moz has been in pretty good form, but he has spent his whole career on the left.

Jennings played for the Kangaroos (against France ) on the right and maybe a few club games. 1 origin maybe? You want your biggest attacking weapon in his favorite spot.

Lawrence played 4 nations on the right last year , he did ok but it wasn't against QLD. He hasn't been good this year.

The centre pairing depends on who plays left wing in my opinion.

If Moz is left wing. His brother will partner him I reckon.

If Hayne is win. Jennings will partner him.

I've heard that Dugan is due back this week? Or the week after? Can we put him in the mix-up even with his dislocated AC he's keen to play and being a Raiders boy Ricky loves him.

So it can really be any of this:

1 Dugan
2 BMoz
3 Jennings
4 Hayne
5 Uate

This is my favourite backline in my opinion. Dugan (If he's fit enough and firing) is a great runner. He was solid in Game I, played some good attacking option, safe as a house. Moz form has been fine this season. If Ricky lets him play like he plays FB on the wing with strong runs he will rip it up. Jennings is just a machine. Speed, footwork this guy has it all. Hayne in the centre takes off the pressure of him being the FB allows him to inject himself into the game more with his kicking and attacking plays. Can also give Uate great ball. Uate...The Fijian Flyer. Every time he has the ball the bloke looks deadly. He just runs straight and hard. If he gets space no one will catch him.

1 Moz/Hayne
2 Moz/Hayne
3 Jennings/JMoz
4 Jennjngs/JMoz
5 Uate

Similar backline just no Dugan and a few positional changes. Would be good in my opinion but I think Dugan is a great FB option and Moz/Hayne need a space somewhere on the team.

For those. Gasnier was average hast series. He merely went out there and played. It looked as if his mind was off the game and he had no concern or care. No heart. That's what affected him. Alas, Inglis didn't destroy him but he could have done better. But Matt King? No Bloody way. We don't need the Souths curse.

You know damn well Ricky would pick Dugan even if he isn't fit.

Every day. There is another article on Hayne and 5/8. Seriously? You are going to move one of our most consistent and deadly backline players to 5/8 where we have players whom can fill that position better then Hayne and are specialist? I seriously hope Ricky is play gimmick and mind-games in the media because is he's NSW 5/8 that's just bullshit.

We have either Carney or Soward that can fill the job better then Hayne and we need him n the backline, why move him out of position. Geez, It's simple Ricky. Put Hayne at FB or centre and Carney in the 6. Stop tossing up this Hayne 5/8 dribble. You do NOT risk playing Hayne in 5/8 especially in an arena like Origin. Carey has the spark we need in the 6. Let Hayne play his natural game. He does not need th extra pressure up back.

I could live with your 1st backline although I think BMoz has had enough chances to shine and hasn't.
I also don't think Dugan will be right to play a game like that ,his shoulder looks rooted and I'm a Raiders fan.
Hayne would be my FB pick with JMoz/ King at RC.

I hope they pick Tamou, TLL, Sims and Hinchcliffe on the bench. Hodges and Thaiday would go MIA if any biff erupted.
Assuming Soward is on the nose atm they would have to play Carney because there aren't any other decent goal kickers.

I think praying that either Brett Stewart or Dugan are fit to play and putting Hayne in the centres is our best option.

Stewart/Dugan
?? (Not Morris, Hoppa come back 4 lyf)
Hayne
Jennings
Uate
Carney
Pearce
Gallen
Buderus *sigh*/Hinchcliffe
TLL
Bird
Scott
Lewis

Maybe not enough props, but think that is getting close to our best 17.

Gidley/Hinchcliffe

Watmough
Tamou

*facepalm* Now Fitler has come out and given the journos another Hayne 5/8 glorification. Saying "He's better then JT, he has the potential to be the Aus 5/8" geez.....Seriously Fittler? How stupid are you and how more crap do we as fans have to endure.
