I've seen Mullen pass out of dummy half and it looks awkward... Defence has improved out of sight, got a good kicking game and can run but jeez I don't want him in dummy half if it were my team...

I just can't agree with selecting Stewart at lock, ball playing forwards generally struggle with the pace of origin and he's not going to provide you any go forward. He just doesn't tick enough boxes for me to be a SOO lock.

Fensom on the other hand is an awesome defender and will provide you with plenty of go forward.

It's almost a no-brainer imo especially when you factor in that you want Farah to play the full 80.

I have to agree.

I think it's a risky strategy to start with 3 "attacking" players in the back row and not a single defensive workhorse. Beau Scott's defence played a critical role for NSW in the first 2 games last year, and was sorely missed in game 3. With Scott out, I would be inclined to throw in someone like Fensom who will tackle all night, which will take some pressure off the rest of the forwards and give them a better chance of making inroads when NSW has possession.

Furthermore, I don't think G. Stewart has been great for NSW in the past. He's played 3 games for NSW now, but I don't remember him ever having much impact. As I mentioned a while ago, I think he's the type of player who needs to have the gameplan built around him in order to get the best out of him -- and that's pretty much impossible to pull off when the NSW team only has 10 days to train together before game 1.

I would go:

11. Fensom
12. Bird
13. Lewis

14. Watmough
15. Sims or Williams

Fensom is the most unfashionable player in the world and is rightfully behind a couple of backrowers imo. That said he is an "origin" player and I think might be a darkhorse next year if he keeps his ludicrously consistent form up at the Raiders. Like Dugan I think injuries perhaps cruelled his run. Would have liked to see him get a run for country.

Fensom is also a reasonable player with the ball in hand. If he had played the full year I have no doubt he would have been pushing hard but hes only just come back from that bicep injury.

I think he could get a call up in games 2 or 3 if there are injuries. The guy can hit a hole pretty well too, he's not that unfashionable.

as long as Luke Lewis is in the side, we dont need a utility. Lewis can play anywhere in the backline, halves, 2nd row, lock and probably even hooker at a stretch

we dont need a specialist utility

^ A specialist utility is a MASSIVE waste of a bench spot. Especially if we have the likes of Hayne and Lewis in the team who can each cover many positions.

Jennings to NSW Cup, I don't see Jennings picked now. It sends a strange message if a NSW Cup player makes the Origin team.

Um your a dragons fan, shut up and take your medicine.

That a dragons fan having a cry about another set of smug fans is a bit f**king rich for one. And secondly why are you having a cry anyway? pull your f**king skirt up and put in your tampon in sweetheart, they are just words.

The first part is just you twisting my words and as for the second part, i disagree, some Dragons fans were pretty unbearable during 2010/11 but even if im wrong, so what? Do NSW fans not serve up any dribble? I know i have and will continue too, and we havent won for six years. I reckon it would be just as bad if not worse if we were up 6-0.

Its all just part of the fun imo, remember this is supposed to be a rivalry.

Who are you.....and what have you done with that knob jockey betcats?

Gippsey - woods looks a great prop but its a bit too soon for me atm. Next year onwards i'd have him in the frame

RWB - Stewart played great in game 3 last year and would have won the Dally M last year had it not been for his dust up with Blair, he is absolute class and as i said, the best forward we have besides Gallen

Stewart was solid in game 3 last year, great is a bit of a stretch. He's been playing as a second rower at club level so it's rather irrelevant to my argument that he should not be lock.

TBH I thought Stewart was ordinary in Game 3. Clearly inferior to what Beau Scott offered.

He's never really impressed me beyond club footy.

We also don't need 4 specialist forwards either, especially when you take into consideration we have a front rower who will play 80 minutes.

I like most others still have queries over Farah's defence, personally I'd start Hinchcliffe for the first 20 or so and then bring Farah on for the rest of the game.

The bench will be the most interesting prospect who Sticky will pick. I'm certain Sims and Tamou will be sitting on that bench and be named come Sunday. As for the others I'm not 100% certain but I know he's doing a fitness test with TRex in the week to see if he's up to fitness standards (He's a wrecking machine) from what I've heard. I'm certain he will go with a utility (Because Farah and Lewis aren't good injury cover + Bird) so I'm hopeful it's Hunchy and not Buhrer.

there's no way he will choose trex for game 1 imo. the only player you would pick after not playing for 8 or 9 weeks would be the captain, gallen.

I'm getting a laugh off the DailyTelegraph website about Jennings. People are saying "He's not for Origin there's better centers". Who? Then they suggest Idris! Seriously? Why? "Because he contained Hodges". You'd think by now people would learn Idris is a fat-overpaid nuffy. Jennings is the best choice center we have. You'd also think that people would realize "Point is not to contain Hodges and Inglis and try play the defense game against QLD but pick players capable to scoring points.

Stuart to DT "That won't stop me picking him" (Regarding Jennings)
