2013 QLD Origin Side

It always amuses me seeing people say Harrison might not make the side. It happens every year for about the last 5 years. The guy has been an integral part of the side and his combination on the left providing a link man between Thurston and Inglis/Boyd is criminally underrated.

I'm also glad Barba has had his troubles this year as I think picking him on the bench would be a mistake.

This does look pretty good, and is about what I'd be expecting. I will say that Sam needs to get his act together; he does go ballistic at Origin level but his club form and efforts last night have been lacking.

I reckon this will be the team, I don't think McGuire will get a run because his form hasn't been as good as in previous seasons and I expect the selectors to play it safe. I also think shillo will be on the bench because he is coming back from injury. I wouldn't be surprised if Myles plays in the front row given he's playing there for the Titans and doing quite well.

I'm not a huge fan of putting #7's on the bench & while DCE isnt the same sort of player as Cronk is, i think he could be used in the similar model. I also think it's time for DCE to get used to the origin side not only for impending retirements but in case of any injuries to Cronk or Thurston in future origins.

he's not listed as eligible on the qrl website, but that doesn't mean much. he was at the gold coast, did he play for burleigh or tweed in the q cup before that? at 28 he might be a little old to be a debutant.

Hes not eligible for anyone apparently. He was born in Mackay and didnt live in NSW before he was 13.

Would not be against Dallas Johnson, never lets QLD down and you know what you get from Dallas. More likely, Parker to start and I think McQueen will get the bench spot.

You're never too old to debut if your form warrants it. I just saw that he was born in Mackay - that's why I suggested him. If he isn't eligible then that's a shame but McGuire should be back to full fitness by then - if Griffin plays him for more than 30 minutes which he should now that Hannant is out for a month...
