Wests Tigers have finally cracked 5000, up to 5079. At the same time last year, they were 5702.

that rejig of the coporate structure musta given a boost.

i suspect that memberhips will come home stronger across the board due to the 9s. First year (obviously) and it seems to be generating some great preseason interest.

some poor teams might do decent (top 8) and make some buzz and the good teams that do poorly will blow it off, "it's just a trial" etc.

Completely random prediction, but...

I am going to guess that one of these clubs with a small membership base (Tigers, Raiders, Titans ... I dont know, one of them) will blitz the first 6 or 7 round, like the Cowboys did back in '06. Everyone is just going to be wondering how much they will win the Minor Premiership by and they will get a huge boost in sign-ups. (I dont actually think this is going to happen, but i would like to see it)

My point is that, due to the evenness of the competition (evenness unseen in any other major sport), the NRL has a very unique opportunity to take advantage of the rapid turnover in top placed teams. Whether it happens this season or 5 years from now, one administration is going to come up with the perfect marketing strategy to take advantage of short term success and the rest of the clubs will follow when it is their turn at the top.

IMO, teams should really try to dig into their own success, no matter how small it is (winning the premiership or winning the 9s comp), and once the success drys up, focus on cementing the support just gained.

That is the basic concept behind membership Dr.

Knowing who your supporters ( customers ) are & trying to convince them to buy every year thereafter.

If ya don't know em, ya can't find em.

Penrith have passed 7,000

Should be close to 9,000 by Round One. Hopefully a good start to the season could see us past 10,000 at some stage in 2014.

Heard a nice membership ad specific to us on triple m evening drive time today. Don't think 20k is acheivable this year but 16-18k is still within reach

 20k is possible there enough incentive for roosters supporters to join on on field success alone. If roosters cant get 20k this year it be hard to reach another time.

Well yeh, obviously thats the natural process; an influx in support when results are in good.

What im saying is that id like to see Club media people actively use this; membership blitz directly based off resent results.

For example, the winner of this 9s comp will probably be a middle-of-the-table team taking it more seriously than the rest (Sharks or Tigers or similar). That means they have 3 weeks of being able to claim they are officially the best team in the comp (before the real season starts). They could actually take advantage of that directly during that window and try to market themselves as a the team to follow.

theres no consistency with updates from clubs , with the above a mix of figures days old & others .. weeks old
I'd say we're over 170K atm.

but all in all its looking like another healthy increase overall for 2014.
we need to get to about 260K to stay on track for our goal of 400K at the end of 2017
