It's a photoshoped version of this DP basketbsll jersey and shirt.

And besides Deadpool doesn't fit the child friendly image that the NRL would be after anyway.

I'm so sick of all these multitudes of jerseys in one season. I know I'm old-school, but for 95 years, teams had one jersey (with the odd exception, whereby a team might have had a 2nd for clash avoidance purposes), and there was no drama. Everyone knew which team was which and casual watchers could recognise the teams.

Now even clubs own supporters struggle to recognise their own team because they're wearing 20 different jerseys per year - and these are not always in their club's colours.

I was happy Newcastle didn't partake in this silly superheroes round last year. I can't say that this year. People speculated we would be 'Spiderman' last year, so I'm guessing that'd be us this year. I don't mind the odd special jersey if it's for a good cause, and I do like having a retro / heritage jersey ... but every club is up to, what, 7 jerseys this year now?

It was designed as a promotion for the Marvel Heroes online game last year.

You'd think the additional jerseys would be chosen from the likes of Ant-man (movie), Black Panther (will have his own movie but will be in next Cap film), Daredevil (tv show), Vision (debuted in last Avengers film), Hawkeye (bigger role in last Avengers film) and perhaps Quicksilver (despite what happened to him in the last Avengers film).

It wouldn't surprise me to see Deadpool, though. He's popular with teenage comic fans and there is a film coming out next year.
