but forgot to get tickets & the game sold out before they could

Is this what we have succumbed to? It's embarrassing.
I would be happy that if the NRL and Fox insist on Thursday night games, these are the games they should be having. It would still get 10000 regardless.
It frees up other block busters to be allocated in their respective time slots.

& start thinking about getting some real crowds to our games

Scully Park is a trial venue
I know the AFL play premiership games at similar sized venues etc
but
they're not struggling for crowds in their biggest market like we are
