Swans have over 50 000 members. Do you think that all of this marketing for game day on the wireless is just dragging casuals off the street to come watch this crap, or maybe their attendance is somehow related to the number of members they have.

You have just contradicted yourself. Swans are using radio advertising . Particularly from upcoming home games. For the clubs to not talk up or promote the very attractive deals for ANZ is poor marketing . As I've stated before the lazy approach doesn't work. The Swans marketing is all encompassing compared to what the two footy clubs did for a standalone Sunday game in Sydney. I'll stand by my comment. It's relevant. Not to say that the ANZ stadium isn't ideal. However the fans do show up for the Easter games which are marketed better than what occured for Sundays game.

ANZ is just a very poor place to go and watch sport. Parra's crowds will go through the roof when their next ground opens.

People can cry "geographical centre" all they like but even from most of Western Sydney, Olympic Park is a pain in the arse to get to. And once you're there, the outside is devoid of anything close to a decent pre-game drink or feed, and the inside has the atmosphere of a particularly somber cemetery.

Parramatta CBD workers aside, I wouldn't call Parra Stadium that easy to get to either tbh?

Pretty easy correlation you idiot! One code uses advertising mentioning the ticket price, where and when. The other code does not. One code gets over 30000 to a home game . The other has two local teams and the only game in the city and gets 17000. There is your correlation DUMMY. And you were the one throwing out the insults. I merely returned serve DUMMY!

Or maybe, the fans of one code are all channelled into the one team in Sydney (let's face it GWS don't really have fans) and the NRL has its fans spread thinly across too many teams in the same city.

Despite what Timmah, Stallion, and co keep bleating ANZ is the single worst venue to watch RL. It’s a shocking stadium where you are copping mid strength beers (for twice a full strength price).

It just makes for a rather annoying and depressing afternoon. Rather watch an ANZ game on Fox

What, he's going into labour?

And yes that automatic preemptive spell check can be difficult at times. But nowhere near as difficult as the simpletons evident on this website. That's not any of the good guys. And there are plenty of them but less offensive and more decent than the simpleton brigade/gallery.

Think all of us do not like ANZ stadium. But poor marketing is a factor in this small turn out for two "heartland " clubs on a free kick Sunday with fair weather.

You could spend a million dollars marketing that game...it’s still being played at that dump they call ANZ!

I've told this story plenty on here but in my last job I had a box at ANZ stadium. Outside of the big event games like GF and Origin WE COULD NOT GIVE THE TICKETS AWAY. I had some infuriating phone calls with people where I was like "free tickets for you and 7 mates, free food, free piss" and I still coudn't get people interested. Let that sink in. I was giving away free tickets to NRL matches, in a box, with free food and drink and people did not want to go. That is how reviled ANZ stadium is.

Yep and it’s 100% true. Couple of my best mates who are Tigers fans and go to most places to watch them- they flat out refuse to go to ANZ in fact they came over yesterday and we had some beers watched the game on Fox

Understand. However fans have turned up to that stadium before. Almost 60000 lobbed up in 2013 when the Roosters played Souths? It is a cavernous venue. So are we stating that the Tigers should have used Leichardt Oval on Sunday? Would your mates have attended that venue?

You keep using that game and it is more silly every time. That was a game to decide the minor premiership, it was 1 vs 2- and Souths brought a lot of fans that were bandwagon types (nothing wrong with it but it is what it is). If it was at Leichhardt Oval or Campbelltown we all would have gone by the way (we have attended every game there this year and plan to for the rest of the year). It is ANZ, it is woeful ground, takes forever to get there, it is always a disappointing experience- especially when all of us like to have 1-2 beers before the game (we actually don't drink during the game). I'm not paying upwards of $10 for mid strength rubbish!

You bring up a valid point. The suburban grounds are an attraction and very much appealing to fans. I think it's valid that ANZ can attract fans with the right mix though. This mix wasn't given a chance last Sunday through poor marketing on top of a cavernous venue . I'm actually all for suburban grounds. Just don't think the marketing is good atm.

Unless it's Origin, finals or the GF, ANZ probably isn't worth it. It's fantastic when full. Great atmosphere etc. But it is lifeless during regular club footy games. Western Sydney Stadium is the solution
