I keep hearing you use the word 'correct' like you're the authority on this but facts are, the NRL decides how its crowds are counted and they have publicised that.

and the NRL are rightly laughed at
other sites report them correctly , they're the only ones people should play attention to.

There was 7 event on that round of footy. The fact one included 2 games doesn't matter

Rugby 7's, Tennis any event which has multiple games at an event uses the same thing.

That's not how it works .
If each day has 50 k attendance then it's 3 events x 50k
Means each day will have a 50 k average

& the whole round will be 50 k average .

I'm with Dave, it should be total attendance over the total games played. Any other measurement is a deliberate attempt to fudge the figures which we have accused other codes of doing, so need to keep the integrity of that measurement. Sure lets find ways to get as many people to games as possible through initiatives like DH's, but we can't go using that as a way to artficially inflate averages.

The Brisbane population is 2.4m. the crowd was less then 1% of that

Compare to say Manly (who always get bashed for crowds) 250k population they would need to have a crowd of 2,500 to match the %.

8 games with one a Double header
10k go to each of the 6 single games
20 k go to DH
So the crowd average for the RD can be worked out 3 ways .

80k Div 8 games = 10k average
80k div 7( 6 games 1 event) = 11428 average
100k (. 2xDH crowd) div 8 = 12500 average

I have no problems with the figure being worked out this way .Its the fairest way .
It's not understating or overstating the crowd average .

There is no right or wrong way end of day, you either dont fudge, fudge a little or fudge a lot. NRL's chosen the middle ground, move on. It'll boost end of year avg and make us feel a bit better and hopefully keep us above last years low, #talkthegameup
