It’s quite surprising how little most clubs make out of attendance at momment. Some clubs are lucky to take $150k a game. In a $25mill revenue it’s not a big slice of the pie.probably explains why they are lazy about it.

the NRL sold its arse too soon. the only way it can increase its billion $$$ broadcast value is:
- with more games -> done; they're playing four more weeks of football than the traditional 22 rounds
- expansion -> room to move in brisbane & perth but still appears a few years off
- more prime time matches -> we're already on thursday nights. probably return to sunday & monday nights to bump up rights value, and more games in poor attendance time slots.

They could also make more $$ by making the game more TV friendly like American Sports did and the AFL did.
Quarter time, time outs these are all options the NRL has to make more $$.
We could make certain aspects of the game that have become pretty boring way more interesting (for instance goal kicking which is boring - NFL went to 2 point play option because it is exciting).

This whole thread is a joke.

It’s easier to watch on Foxtel. Simple.

Want crowds back then remove live coverage. Remove live coverage and you remove billion $ deals and therefore players leave and what do you have.

This whole dick measuring contest on crowds is redundant as mostly the crowd numbers are not a result of disinterest but rather it’s easier and more convenient to watch from home in most cases. Especially with scheduling on thu and fri nights.

Flame away but it’s the truth.

There is truth to this. Except NRL crowds were never great because before TV $ they had pokie machine $$ which meant they didn't have to work hard or smart to get crowds.
I would love to see the arse fall out of TV sport dollars so that the clubs that are lazy as hell either get it together or die. Would be awesome for the game.
