Crowd was down in Townsville but I feel that was because of the cyclones in North Queensland stopping people from travelling

It was a Thursday night game against a low drawing opponent in an area that has had some pretty shocking weather recently. It's not a good crowd but it's not a disaster.

That and the manly crowd were always going to be the biggest concerns this week. Hopefully some of the big games deliver though as always it's best to temper expectations. I'm hoping both big Sydney games will hit 30K.

I do suggest if any game this round was destined to be poor then this fixture was it. A visiting team not as universally attractive(still not knowing what colours they are ) , both losers the previous round and on a Thursday night. It was a given to be a low attendance. The lead up inclement weather just guaranteed a poor turn out.

I think the Cows crowd last night was good under the circumstances.

Parts of North QLD have had some insane weather throughout March. Places between Tville and Port Douglas received up to 600mm of rain in 24hour periods throughout the week, much extending west, roads cut everywhere.

What do we think for today?

30k for Souths v Dogs & 15k for Sharks v Storm?

11,907 although it is a Thursday before a public holiday. Not a disastrous attendance but poor by cowboys standards.
Never going to be good for a Thursday night.
People have to travel for a number of hours to go to games and it's not going to happen on Thursday nights.
That's not even taking into account the weather in the region atm, some roads were blocked off.

There’s half a chance today’s game at ANZ won’t crack 30K. Let alone 40K

That's poor considering it's public holiday and cheap tickets. Fans wanted cheap tickets but haven't responded as shown by that embarrassing double header crowd, public holiday is one of the no excuses situation imo.

Beautiful day in Sydney today and this crowd has easily cracked 30k every year for some time now. I think somewhere around 35k would be reasonable with both sides coming off a win. I miss 5 years ago when we were talking about 50k plus :weary:

Because tickets were already cheap, people will just use any excuse to not go.

It must be acknowledged that the double header wasn't well publicised! The promotion was extremely minimal. Not hyped up once by mainstream media news bulletins or talk back sports shows.

Weather’s no good. It’s a little too sunny today. Not good for football.

Thanks for proving the point.
