I’ll be very surprised if the New York franchise sees the light of day having seen the calibre of a few of their backers!!! lol.

Championship could breakaway from RFL

Championship clubs could breakaway from the RFL, in the same way that their Super League counterparts have done, to gain greater control over their broadcast and commercial assets.

There is a belief that the RFL should focus on the governance of the game, including such things as officiating and grassroots, and enable the clubs and league as a whole to focus on generating the best sponsorship deals for them, and not just be lumped in as an extra with the overall discussions for Super League and the Challenge Cup as previous.

Ottawa bid making waves

The Ottawa bid to join League One, led by Eric Perez, is close to being confirmed and accepted, with time running out to get them in place for 2020.

There are doubts over the New York bid and where the funds are coming from, and given the stringent time constraints next season looks increasingly unlikely, if at all. It is believed a Russian consortium is behind the bid.

COuld just easily replace West Wales too if they don't want to expand. They're being whipped again this season.

Doncaster are like Rochdale for me. A big northern town in the “heartlands” with a minimal RL presence both at professional and grassroots level.

Has the argyle money kicked in yet?
What do you make of Argyle’s involvement with LS? Is the idea to get them to SL? Would it be an alternative if TWP are blocked or become too much of a drain on his finances?

It’s hard to answer that question. Can somebody own 1 club in super league and Part-own another club in super league?

Are the skolars just a potential reserve team for the Wolfpack? Will the Wolfpack play some of their home games there when lamport stadium is unavailable?

I think you could be right about argyle maybe fully owning the skolars if things go tits up in Toronto.

SONNY BILL’S NEW SUITORS

Could Sonny Bill Williams bypass a rugby league farewell in Australia and head to the Super League?

There’s already been talk of Williams signing with promotion hopefuls Toronto Wolfpack, with owner David Argyle telling foxsports.com.au SBW joining the Canadian club would be “bigger than Beckham”.

But now it has emerged that Williams is receiving interest from another club overseas.

According to League Weekly, the Dragons want to bring the 33-year-old back to the South of France where he enjoyed a stint with union side Toulon.

It helps that head coach Steve McNamara knows Williams well from his days as assistant of the Sydney Roosters.
