I’d have no problem if we paid around 500k per season for Toby. As well as the improvement he has shown over the last 18 months or so you would also factor a little in for his marketability.

from what I was told, again not sure on how reliable it is, our offer was 500k per year for 3 years.

Anyone else wondering about Wade's future with us?
Not at all.

Wade is a Rooster system kind of player thru and thru.
IMO they will want him to stay and improve him.
He’s Boyd Cordners best buddy and they will shape him as a leader like him, whether he is the captain or not.

Even that seems high but guess you can somewhat pay for potential. 100k is alot of money but you'd hope Toby would see the benefits of staying with us rather than go to the Dogs. Just look how Napa is going.

100K when agent takes some and tax takes more isn’t worth the move to a team that will lose its current coach and be forced to start a rebuild of the rebuild.

I would expect Toby's speech after he signs to be something like this:
"I grew up supporting the Roosters and just the chance to be coached by one of my childhood heroes in Fitzy and to learn off him I couldn't ignore. I love it here at the Sharks and I never wanted to leave"

At 0-7/8/9/10 u think they aren’t talking about his future?

Probably are but he's on a big 3 year contract and he inherited a hot mess. If they don't show some patience, atleast for this year and next they deserve everything they get.

In saying that I don't rate Barrett as a coach.

He's only worth $600 to Canterbury, Cows, Tigers, Manly. Clubs who are going to have pay overs. Like we had to.

A top club wouldn't pay it. A Storm or a Rooster system would not even come close to $600k for a non rep, error riddled, tackle missing bloke with potential. Not even with cool hair

One error every two games qualifies as error riddled?

Toby did this to us last year so we shouldn't be shocked.
He seems like the kind of player that will value money over success in the long run.
My understanding is we have twice met his wage demands this year and he still hasn't put pen to paper.
Will it suck to lose him? Yes, absolutely. Is he replaceable? Yes, absolutely.

Probably a point, and it's coming soon where we draw a line in the sand.

Move on to other forwards.

Are we getting any closer with WK CB?

Can see Sunday 2nd May being the make or break day for Bellamy.
If he is coming he would want to wait till we play them first but also announce is ASAP to tempt more players. Any longer than that leaves players signing deals before hand and might cost us.

I think the earlier he announces it the better for what ever team he decides to go with.
