Like at a very conservative 100k a round and 270k for the finals that's 3.8m and change. And there's no way the numbers will be that low.

Long way to go but running some guesses for the last 3 rounds and potential finals lineups it should be very close. Sharks finishing 5-6th would be a blow to chasing the 4m, other than that all potential finals teams should draw pretty well.

We stand at around 3,244,448 for the season.

Well beyond the aggregate record now.

To beat the average of 16,468 from 2005, we are going to need 3,359,472. 115,024 more to go. Good chance that threshold gets crossed next round.
Having a 3rd rate woman event has not helped this great season...bah humbug.

If we count Magic Round as per game and not per day we should be at 3,493,648 (Credit to @SportsIndustry on X).
But, going off of the number you've provided (3,244,448). we'd need at least 755,552 to reach the 4 million mark for the first time ever.
Let's say hypothetically, each of the final 3 rounds reach 150,000 on the dot. That'll leave the finals series to get 305,552 (At least 76,388 per week of finals). Obviously the number of 150,000 per round is ambitious due to the form of some teams having home games in the last few rounds, but it is very much achievable.

I really do hope to see us as a code finally crack 4 mil. We already are in the most attended season ever excluding finals at the moment (only need another 246,330 to beat 2010's full season attendance). Would just be the icing on the cake for the game.

So Dropathon has 18 teams we have 17.
So if we ever get that 18th team to join in the next 5 years, then we're looking closer to a average of 5 million for the season???????

We should have some really good crowds this weekend.

The Cowboys look to be selling well for a Thursday night - a really tough time slot for them. The Warriors have nearly sold out Friday night vs Manly. Only GA south available and Newcastle are very close to selling out against Souths.

Next team in is png or Perth neither will bring decent sway fans and will probably do average crowds

dolphins are a decent part of this years increase

Having lived in PNG I can't see them playing home games in Port Moresby.
Crowd control and player/spectator's safety will always come into play.
The PNG people are beautiful people but when they are fuelled with adrenaline they can be ..........
Having more teams in NZ and Perth would be tough on clubs wouldn't? With extra travel, the draw and training logistics... I'm unsure.
I really don't know what I'm talking about here but it did fail once before in Adelaide and Perth.
It seems to me that new teams need to have a safety blanket and that being where there is a rugby league nursery or a lot of league followers like Sydney and Brisbane.

I was talking to a Sharks supporter at the game on Friday Night, and he said if they play a home final there, particularly against someone like Souths or Newcastle, it would be absolutely crazy!

Locking 30,000+ out for no good reason!

Even the folk of the Shire want to go to the SFS for September!

Hopefully Souths-Easts in R27 can crack 40k!

Also, a lot of good Swans crowds are a 1:45pm start.

I propose we move the Friday 6pm game (which I literally had to run a combined 3km to this past week on either side of my train trip), to 2pm Saturday.

Super Saturday:
2pm - this game should always be all-Sydney derbies, family friendly, at SFS or Commbank, $40 family pass
4pm
6pm
8pm
