That was 5 years ago and I don't think Homebush would be the right loction for that anyways

Commbank seems to make a lot of sense and I reckon it sells out.

We don't like CommBank so that was never an option.

Not on a Sat afternoon, that timeslot is a lower drawing one

At 21k capacity Penrith is fine for wk1 finals imo. There should be a 20k min capacity for wk 1 and 2 finals, 30k for preliminary finals.

If the NRl thinks they can sell more tickets than the home club can accommodate for any finals game they should offer them a financial incentive to move (maybe 50% of gate takings above home ground capacity?).

Some article had the Sharks game costing the NRL $1mill in lost ticket sales compared to if hosted at Allianz. For $500k I reckon the Sharks would have moved it.

Can we get the 2018 crowd watch thread to find the people complaining that the match should have been at Penrith?

That was why it was moved. We played at Allianz in 2017 v Manly and was a similar crowd.

it was many cases of smaller crowds looking poor

Manly fans are allergic to crossing the spit bridge and Penrith didn't have all the bandwagoners jump on that they do now after winning b2b comps back in 2017.

The option can't be to move the game to the 7th placed home ground! You realise how ridiculous that is and very unfair for a side coming 5th. If there's another ground all ears but not to Allianz where the Roosters play every second week.

Not sure many are suggesting accor is a good choice. However allianz or commbank.......

If we cant get 20-30k plus to finals games in Sydney on the back of a great year of attendances then somethings not right.

There will be 22k there.

The players get to do their usual home game routine.

The club gets the extra business across the road.

Seems a far reward for being the best team all year

Our fanbase is very young. Most were in Primary school then. Still not sure most are going to the city or after the nightlife side of things

Getting to Allianz is a lot easier from western sydney now then 5 years ago as well.

Going the Cricket every year the Tram just drops you out the front now. Its 100x easier.

Get on the tram at Wynyard or Central and your there in 5-10 mins.

This bloke you are all conversing with is not a league fan.

The horse has bolted. And is also dead.

It might change next year. Or the teams finishing in 1,2,5 and 6 play out of the biggest stadiums.

Kind of amazing that in a season where the aggregate will be half a million higher than any season before it that people are still concerned about like 10,000 more people.

Its a grass field the same dimensions as every other. Home ground advantage, please, thats about fans not the stadium.

Might want to check that all fields are exactly the same dimensions in the NRL

home ground advantage also for the players in terms of travel and routine. Though travel to Shark Park is probably an easier trip for most Sydney based NRL players

As opposed to just jumping on a bus though or driving and parking at the shops

it is only for 3 teams though, So is a minor issue.

Not sure the NRL ends up any worse off in the back pocket

That is the thing

Parra
Dogs
Tigers
Roosters
Souths

All play at these stadiums anyway.

Dragons play ANZAC day at Allianz. So may play there

Not really. They would leave from the Home base of the club.

You nailed it. Routine, time spent in traffic all that sort of stuff comes into it.

We hate CommBank because there is no parking for families. And depending on the day traffic can be bad.

As opposed to Accor that is straight off the M4 and has stacks of parking.

Sat traffic. You are probably looking at adding 45-60 mins to the Sharks travel again you get there and no parking for familes
