Worth a read for anyone interested re: the club's due diligence and thought process around our logo and club colours. The club won't please everyone I guess.
I am biased, but I love it. Coke jokes aside from the peanut gallery (lol), the strip is good on the eye. The red and gold is a nice contrast (some similarities to the infamous American 49ers NFL team). We will have multiple variations in '23, and I am assuming at least three to four including the Women in League, and ANZAC Day rounds.
Shame it’s more baby poo gold than shimmering gold lolWorth a read for anyone interested re: the club's due diligence and thought process around our logo and club colours.
The New Dolphin
For mine, deepish red, 'old gold', and black should be the colours of WA's team when it eventuates. Like I've said previously, one kit should be gold heavy, black secondary colour, with red trim. Another kit should be mostly black, gold as the secondary colour, and red trim. If a 3rd is required (can't see how, mind you), THEN go with red main, black secondary, and gold trim. Heritage could be a Western Reds design but utilising just those three colours. Those Dolphins colours are the ones I thought would be good for a Perth Pirates team but it's too sandy. The colour should be Old Gold #CFB53B. It should be kept for trims, thin stripes and embossed lettering. They need to get rid of the pants side panels.
The model is posing like a kindergartener on his first day of big school. From the Dolphins’ instagram story:View attachment 67043

They should have just used what the Q Cup team wore this year. The template is old school and distinctive. Red and white is fine without the Gold.

I've mocked it all up months ago. It looks brilliant, in my opinion. I'll have to try finding them again one day soon, just for the fun of it.
Are we displeased? We just think it’s shit, that’s all.I believe we have done a good job with the nod to our proud history (established in 1947) with the new jersey. The new jersey, with the red, white and gold, has been eloquently explained by the club on their website. I love the jersey. I love the vision.
If not pleasing the other 16 teams' fan bases isn't going to be achieved. So be it.

Exactly and we’ll debate, critique or shit post on anything that gets typed in these pagesYeah it is not like everybody is on suicide watch after the announcement, it is just that people either think it is funny or are not enamoured by it.

Let's hope the other 16 teams nail their jerseys for the masses. ;-)
Oh, definitely. All clubs will toss up something that may not land with their fanbase or other fans. I recall the blue Brisbane strip from the 90s for example! I am not sure there fans ever understood that.I’ll add that my team (Raiders) have got that stupid blue jersey - seriously we are called the Green Machine for a reason so stick with it. The Knights will probably have that eyesore NIB logo. So don’t worry mate, it’s not just your club
