but seriously, is there a hooker coming through the ranks at Newcastle that will take the spot away from Crossland or Mann
Kobe Rugless would've been the logical one because he's on a development deal but he had been relegated to playing 20 minutes off the bench for the past few weeks and didn't play any grade last week.

Riley Jones yet to play this year due to injury.

Liam Wilkinson is a utility who had been playing hooker over Rugless, but he was also out last week.

Temple Kalepo finally played last week but it was a 50 point loss and judging by his numbers he didn't go very well.

Noah Nailagoliva made his seniors debut off the bench but isn't ready for NRL.

Short answer: no.

Long answer: even at full health, no.

Reality is we haven’t got another specialist hooker in the squad so we need to either sign someone or rely on someone like Mann, Crossland or Gamble

What’s Huth up to? I swear he looked capable to me.

Maybe we can try get Woolford from the Raiders? He seemed out of favor?

Corey Paix from Broncos might be another nice option.

As bad as it sounds right now, I think we have to look at moving on from Brailey, as much as I love his attitude and effort for the club.

I wonder how Gamble would go at Hooker when Ponga comes back.
Rotate with Crossland and Mann.
AOB reckons we need 2 to make up for Brailey.

Woolford is the raiders starting hooker and Paix is the 14 for the broncos so either are out of favour. If you’re going to market you’re looking at guys like Jayden Nikorima, Moses Mbye or Mitch Rein who are off contract next year and might get an immediate release if we sign them for next year

Jayden Berrell is the Sharks back up hooker and isn't signed beyond 2023

He killed it in Qcup back in 2021 and has been playing for Newtown since signing with the Sharks

They have McInnes there who can fill in for BBrails if needed so they might be open to releasing him

Calm is required here. When he was taken off we put the nails in the Warriors coffin. This side responds differently now. Brailey was not the lone catalyst for the form we are in. Hastings does not require world class distribution to be the player he is. His footy IQ is elite. This scenario would have been very much anticipated as a chance in the off season. Adam Elliott can play 9 did a great job for the Raiders where required.

Man... Feel terrible for the lad.. Just can't catch a break. Hopefully we send him to America or whoever is the best ACL expert in the world.

As a Knights fan I am also devasted. Brailey is a top notch player and we could have had an amazing spine for the next 3 or 4 seasons. After his 2 year deal hopefully he gets over his injuries and we can sign him up as our backup hooker. It would be stupid if we didn't sign a starting hooker asap now.
