Teddy tried hard in attack but was poor... he was embarrassing in defence though.

By the same token, when you have a one player advantage for the last 10 minutes of the game, why play a slide defence instead of an up and in one? That second last try should never have happened as the defensive positioning of NSW was laughable with Addo-Carr letting his opposite stand outside him. That's not a knock on JAC, but in greasy conditions you are most likely to have footing issues when you slide like they attempted to. Just gave that Qld left edge too much space to work with.

For all the talk of Tedesco hogging the ball and being one-dimensional, isn’t Edwards very much a metre eating, not really a playmaker style FB too? Is he really going to make a big difference? To make a big change to the attack you’d want more of a ball playing FB

Just re-watched the game.

Hudson Young to be fired out of a cannon in the general direction of the sun. Fake tough guy act doesn't work in SOO
We looked a million times better with Martin and Murray onfield.....guys who actually did some hard work.

Teddy has developed Gallen-itis with his ball hoggery.....and at the wrong times.

Carrigan and Cotter were absolutely outstanding for QLD.

I'd put Mitchell at fullback. I don't think Crichton was that bad, he just didn't pass.

Put Campbell Graham or Burton in for Turbo.

Just did a brutal grog bog. The resulting turd had more creativity than Yeo and Cleary combined. Looked better than both of them as well.
Fighting words... Of course Newcastle players post Joey don’t even perform to the level where anyone even cares about their lack of creativity.

I love Latrell. I will advocate him as a fullback for Souths against all the peanut opinions on here.

However... he doesn't have the motor to be a fullback at Origin level. Let him dominate at left centre, ideally outside someone who can actually create tries.

Edwards should be fullback.

100% this.

It's Latrell or Turbo.....and it ain't Turbo

You want a ball playing 5/8 first. Cody Walker and Nicho Hynes are the only options.

That is the thing QLD would just turn him around all night and tire him out

Yep. Too many pundits, and players seem to think "niggle" is what makes them a tough player, and for mine that is all Hudson Young did was niggle. His 30 minutes of game time resulted in 5 runs for 35 metres, 12 tackles and 2 missed tackles (according to Channel Nine). He also gave away a real bone headed penalty too.

Tough player do the hard yards, make that extra yard in defence, take that extra hit up, and if anyone tries intimidating them they do not back down to it they stand up to it. I mean players like Norm Provan, Artie Beetson, John Sattler weren't though because they niggled opponents. Even players like Wayne Pearce and Bradley Clyde (to name two) were noted noted tough guys, but never shirked the hard work in hitting the ball up nor in making tackles. Qld certainly worked Api over as he had to make 42 tackles, and in the closing stages he was gassed from all that defensive effort.

Nsw dominated most of the game

the difference was queenslands execution

the game was close and in the balance

Tedesco won’t get dropped but latrell returning will make a difference

the biggest problem is the coach

for mine I would have latrell at fullback and Burton in the centres and probably have Damien cook back over api

Joey flanghan hasler for coach

even bellyache if he wants another shot

problem is the coaching. Fittler has been in media for 20 years with no experience, Billy Slater spent his whole career learning coaching from Craig Bellamy and it shows

He coached the roosters lol

he’s a dud then again Walters had a poor previous coaching career and is doing ok now
