You aren't picking him to steer the team around. That would be on Reynolds. Choady has also performed well in more big games than Moses has.
Walker has played origin before and didn’t do much. Moses was fine in his only origin game despite playing with a broken back. Moses is faster and a better defender than Reynolds, has more try assists and kicked more goals. If they’d played the same number of games he’d have more kick metres as well.

Come on, you know how footy works. You keep running the same decoys time after time, eventually the defence moves to counter the ball out the back, and then you hit 'em with the short ball. By keeping his shape and running those lines, Young did his job.

People don't like him, I get that. But he'll be better for the run.
My only issue with him was ill discipline really. Hopefully he is better with that next game.

Both lost Grand Finals, but Choady had a dig at least. Moses was out played by Jake Arthur.

Moses is on a hiding to nothing, really.

Win and it's Origin is scripted the NRL always wanted a decider!

Lose his second Origin game ever, in QLD, 1-0 down and massively up against it and it's gonna be solely because he's a downhill skier.

I'd have picked Reynolds anyway for his experience and because he's more steady. Moses just needs to kick well and hope the pack does its job, then he can expand the game if needed. Luai should be the one taking risks until we manage to get on top

This is typical of Freddy's tenure. Media driven selections for game 1, then multiple changes for game 2. Can't afford to give QLD a 1-0 lead before getting a better balanced team in place.

2022 - 1 forced change at best (Wighton injured?) for game 2, the rest just looks like panic stations.

2023 - same shit different year.

That's the lot of a NSW 7 unfortunately. Doesn't matter what you do, if you aint Joey Johns you're shit.

Freddy has never lost a game 2 in his time as origin coach .... I suspect that record is going to get torched.

Personally I think Reynolds should have been picked at halfback. Whilst he does have a few health issues at times, I think he's a much steadier and consistent player than Moses. Reynolds has helped a team win a grand final.

Stefano Utoikamanu? How they heck does this guy get picked?

With Wighton, he missed Origin 2 last year as he came down with COVID-19.

So if the Sharks had played the Dogs and the Eels played the Storm last round, Nicho would have been in and Moses parted with.
Moses never got picked on the bench for game one , sat on it for 68 minutes , was sent on when the momentum was very much with QLD , but still did nothing wrong in those 12 minutes
& was subsequently dropped out of the team for game 2 completely ...

Did Fittler have a plan for Nicho ?
anything ?

I mean its a bench rotation in the toughest environment there is
did he seriously think we could beat QLD with 16 players ?

If it wasn't for one poor pass, Walker leads Souths to a premiership in 2021 after scoring one of the all-time great Grand Final tries (which has been lost in the churn).

Since he played Origin in 2020, he has gone to another level, dominating every attacking stat and holding his own defensively. Outside Cleary or Reyno and inside Latrell he would kill it in Origin.

He didn't have a plan for his rotation at all.

He kept Hynes on the bench for 68 straight minutes and Young for 50. From when Young went off to when Hynes went on - 38 minutes - he basically operated as though he only had two reserves. No wonder NSW were fatigued at the end.
