If you think because of his public utterances Fittler is a "hipster dufus man child" then you really do not know much about aspects of coaching. You should go back and do some history study and see how many people criticised Jack Gibson for his "whacky, unconventional" strategies, tactics and training methods when he was coaching.
When he coached at Souths, he was criticised for playing a defensive game plan and not the "Souths way" of attacking football, despite the squad having a good pack but little quality in the backs outside of Terry Fahey. There were plenty who criticised him when at the Roosters for his obsession with tackle counts, and his use of Nautilus Machines for strength building. Thing is he got his players to buy in.
I don't have a problem with people criticising Fittler based on results, or his selections, but on a "hipster dufus" angle is such a load of manure. I mean if being articulate in public makes you the greatest coaches of all time, then Alan Jones would be the gold standard of coach in league and in union by that theorem.
