Des Hasler for NSW for 2024
enough of Freddy

I'd say he's lost the plot , but I'm not sure he ever knew it to lose it !!

If it wasn't for one poor pass, Walker leads Souths to a premiership in 2021 after scoring one of the all-time great Grand Final tries (which has been lost in the churn).

Since he played Origin in 2020, he has gone to another level, dominating every attacking stat and holding his own defensively. Outside Cleary or Reyno and inside Latrell he would kill it in Origin.
I don't know if I'd go that far, but I was on edge for the entire 80 minutes, considering Nathan's kicking game was a 9.5 out of 10 and we had all the field position it was pretty good example of a half having a bloody good game off the back foot. The intercept was pretty crucial, but it could have easily gone the other way. I'm no Cody fan, but it's almost a shame the good stuff he did that night is forgotten because of a very switched on read by Critta.

Fast forward to the following year and it was high fives after 20 minutes. Moses was a complete non entity.

Yeah, like that time he won that big game in.................... ummm, wait, it will come to me............ nope. Help me out?
What's funny is Cleary has won more series as a starting half for NSW than Johns.

Unless you score 2 or 3 tries and single handedly win the game you get torn to pieces by everyone if you're wearing blue.

Pretty much. Cleary was pretty plod last game and it's not the first time, but has had a few really good games as well. People see what they want to see, and it's usually highlight plays. I don't recall him ever being close to the worst on field.

I think some of it stems from the fact that in the second half it was very noticeable he had stopped running the ball at all. In the first half he ran every so often to engage the defence before offloading.

Also he stopped aiming his bombs at Walsh in the second half. He just seemed to retreat into his shell a bit when NSW needed him to continue what he'd been doing in the first half in my opinion.

Hopefully NSW gets smashed, Fittler gets fired on the tarmac, and the plane takes off without him, standing there barefooted.

The sooner we get rid of the whole Fittler-Johns-Gould-Gallen clique the better....

Dessie would be a solid choice if he doesn't land a FT coaching gig. I do worry he's a bit of a slow burn as a coach and wouldn't have enough time to really imprint his methods on the team.

Fittler is a hipster dufus man child and coaching NSW is like a hobby to him.

I don't like Slater but he's a smart guy who is showing up how bad Fittler is.
Slater is doing well, but like Mal Meninga ( who also had Smith, Slater, Cronk and Inglis) he has a very simple task: 1) play to a simple plan with everyone playing their role on field and 2)Tap into the myth of HuRdUr, KwEeNsLaNdAh to excite the feebly minded excitable types.

It's no great mystery or myth as to why Qld places such weight on origin and why so many NSW fanbases don't.

Would you prefer to see your club win a premiership or your state win origin? If origin is your priority you're the victim of media hype and the fallacy of a non existent inferiority complex built on supposed wrongdoing of the past that in reality was Qld players being happy to head south for a few dollars.

Uto is a crazy selection. Barely has the motor to play 40 minutes at club level let alone an origin decider at Suncorp.

I don't think I am going to get either. :(. But a premiership.
