It's a fair point but we don't have loads of options either tbh.

Luai and Walker have been tried and not exactly set the place on fire. Same for Keary. And apart from them what other five eighths are there?

Munster and Brown are arguably the best two in the game, neither are options for NSW. Hynes won the Dally M last year, he can play footy. I guess the question is can it go worse than we have already? Probs not

This is always my reply to the calls of too many Penrith players in the side.

You need players playing in the big games going well before they can play Origin.

Luai has done it in club land for 3 years

Game 1 he put Martin over
Threw the pass for Crichton to score

Tonight put Young through the hole for the NSW Try.

So he is doing something in Origin, A coach that can actually set attacking systems can likely improve on that.

Burton - Like Hynes isn't putting teams to the sword enough in club land to be an option.

Hynes won the Dally M on the back of beating on some shit teams, went out in straight sets in the finals.

Burton will be in a bottom 4 team.

Maybe Hynes wins a semi or 2 this year.

Not sure a new coach won't stick with Luai, Particularly if we win the comp again this year

ROFL, I do have to laugh at this narrative that treats the game like it’s the NBA.

Honestly, hope Hynes doesn’t come into the NSW team until they get their shit together. Don’t want him anywhere near that Fittler/Johns/Alexander clown show.

Why do you think Pearce was always picked? Roosters were a great team and the other options weren't getting the job done consistently enough

Convinced the nsw coaching positions are a poisoned chalice now. Who'd want to clean up this mess.
That’s the thing though. I don’t think NSW Is that far off. Their fundamentals are still strong, it’s just the lack of coaching that is stopping them from taking advantage of possession and field position.

Des would shit it in. So would anyone who can set some attacking structures.

He’s already won Origin series before clown, throw in multiple GF’s a CC medal and a World Cup.

Yeah he has also lost origin series you clown 🤡

Mitchell Pearce Mkll

I did enjoy Moses running down the short side with a 3 on 2 overlap only to have the Panfers player f**k it up..

If NSW make Johns or Gallen the coach, you might as well not watch Origin as NSW fan.

The first criteria for NSW coach should be - ‘is not in the media’.
Des Hasler is probably the furthest thing from media personality out there, and would probably be the best option. One things for sure, he wouldn’t have played Cook in the centres for 77 seconds let alone 77 minutes.

100%

I don’t want to hear NSW fans getting sucked in by this reactionary bullshit the media is bound to go on with, making out like this is 2010 and there’s a whole lot of tearing down and rebuilding and patience needed and it’s oh so hard and it’s #bluesincrisis

We have seen what a difference Slater has made to a Qld side that got Famously (TM, me because f**k you Ch.9 with your Qld-centric cliches) spanked on home turf to record levels in 2021. Change the bloke in charge of selecting and managing the NSW Blues and people might be amazed at how quickly it turns around...
