Because you have included the $600-$700m that is Telstra in that. The $4.5b includes that.

The actual TV part is $3.8b or something. Ave of $550m a season

Which is likely where NRL starts in 2028 ( Assuming NRLW expands and the 9th game comes in as planned).
so
6% to 40%
still not close

NRL north of a million again last night with some estimates & about a 200K win over the aflol
Definitely a tick up in the Perth and Melbourne FTA numbers particularly Perth.
I would suggest that the quality of the opening rounds is attracting viewers, either that or some union fans checking out what they`ve just paid overs for.

The actual excluding Telstra is 3 billion
HAHA only in your head! You think they turned down $600mill from paramount/ch10 to accept $428mill from Fox and Ch7? cuckoo cuckoo.

Well there you go.
That is across 7 years not far between the 2... yet NRL is being ripped off?
lol and you believe him? You honestly believe telstra have gone from $50mill a year to $214mill year contribution? Please.

For every 1 person that tunes in in perth with an oztam box it adds 4k to the total lol. Its BS.

Not unusual numbers for Perth. While 15k is pretty much as good as it gets (R16 last year), 10-12k occured 21 times during the 2022 season in Perth. Growth almost entirely due to the Storm having a game on the main channel in Melbourne to open its season.

Average ratings to the end of round 4

Storm had 1 FTA game so far on Nines main channel in Melbourne. Rated 61k.
Last year to R4 theyd had 2 games on GEM. These games rated under 30k each.

welcome to the very legitimate art of representative sampling.

When we used to get US number for ratings, AFL and NRL numbers would come in under 15k in a country of 300m. I dont even know how that could be measured.

Just because its accepted doesnt make it reliable.
Like I've said if NRL by pure chance of distribution got lucky and we had 10 of the 500 WA households with an oztam box who happened to be NRL fans we'd have an audience in perth of 40k a game.

Give me a box, it'll triple our WA viewing numbers over night lol. Its BS and pure luck of distribution when it comes to such small numbers.

Absolute bullshit. It’s a tried tested and true way of measuring audiences. It’s about as accurate as you can get and the sampling measures are as refined as you can get. You must be the biggest smart ass know all in history. Pity you don’t actually know anything.

Its not just because its accepted, its literally the only way its done.

This is true of any code. Maybe there are a million rugby union and soccer supporters out there who just got missed by oztam

Now your being strawman, no ones saying there's a million. But anywhere between 4k and 100k, yeh very possible given the very low sample rate. 500 boxes for 2.2 million people? hmmm.
