That’s what the fumblers are claiming they are getting currently

They are full of shit.

Use your own brain, 2.5m people have access to Fox Sports. Throw in ALL the sport rights fees and it isn't possible

ah no...
it quite obviously is possible
based on that tin foil hat logic the NRL isn't getting what they're getting now because & no one ever has either ...

Im sure ASIC would be interested in your theory too

Foxtel are getting 370 mill cash a year & about 30 mill in contra

We know theyre getting around $570mill cash a year 2025>
Telstra probably around $40-50mill of that cash
that leaves tv paying somewhere around $520-530mill cash
likely around $160mill ch7
$360-370mill cash fox

You need to factor into your workings that over half are on fox ptv, and a big chunk of them are bundling sports with other fox packages and paying a premium. Without the sports they likey wouldn’t be bundling so sports is also a driver for subscriptions on those other fox products.
before I bought a smart tv I was paying $110month for the fox premium box top subscription.
kayo is now $25-30, then avg fox bundle subscription would be a lot more than that.
If nrl is driving one million subscribers across ptv and STV then, with the other revenue from advertising and betting link up, the revenue would be safe to say is over $500mill a year.

No one is yet that is the thing.

Even when AFL does reach $550 with contra. Ch7 will be covering $180m of that.

One day it will happen but we will be paying $60 a month for Kayo. Normal Foxtel packages will increase to cover such a thing

According to those data above fumbles have 3.6 million for 6 games and we have 4 million for 5. That’s an average difference of 200,000 per game. FMD

I watched Canberra v Broncos at a pub after going to Panthers v Manly game.

On a small screen near the TAB the swans game was on. In the bottom corner was the score update in the Suns v St Kilda game.

Not only do the games overlap but you can't watch the other game on delay later due to that spoiler, That atleast covers that difference.

Hence why they are a guide and can't be an actual comparison

I guess the question people should ask is how many of Foxtel/Kayo's 4 million+ subscriptions are driven by NRL viewership. When you consider that we get about 5 to 6 million total ratings a round, that'sabout 3 to 4 million likely unique viewers across FTA and subscription. I'd suggest it's at least 1.5 million NRL driven subscriptions. Most likely over 2 million.

That’s their problem. They have too many teams, their games go for too long and their game is shite. It’s a reason they shouldn’t have 20 teams but will anyway. Fact is we can easily accommodate a 9th and tenth game if we locate the new clubs correctly and take advantage of appropriate game times. We easily outrate them on tv now and can really punish them further if we get it right.

Thursday night, Friday early, Friday night, Saturday arvo, Saturday twilight, Saturday night, Sunday arvo, Sunday twilight, Sunday night, Monday night.

10 games. No overlaps.

Yep. They could never go that without conflicting time schedules. Their problem and unsolvable unless they move to halves and shorten their goddam awful games.
They're going to always have 1 to 2 clashes unless they start games at 12pm. However, fewer people are watching then. Prime time slots is where the money is at. The NRL can have 5 out of 7 nights covered if it wants.

Also the NRL has never had live back to back FTA games in prime time. The closest they had was the Friday delayed game. If on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday you air two back to back games, you can target 3-4 metros in that block. E.g. Dolphins vs Rabbitohs followed by Broncos vs Storm. Suddenly that 1 million national rating becomes closer to 1.5 million across a 4 hour block.
