Expecting to clear 6million viewers for the round for the 3rd time this year.

Should clear round 1 of 6.3m but will be close.

Tick over 5 from memory but also kick off for Origin or a GF is after 10pm on a school night. NZ doesn’t have a PH the day after the GF

After this weekend the NRL will probably have a viewership lead of over 15million aggregate viewers.

Baring a disaster, there is almost no way the AFL can catch the NRL on aggregate viewers this year. (Touch wood)

The way things a tracking the gap in aggregate veiwership will be its largest ever.

Which is its right. They have earned it with talented athletes, a fast moving code of power and quick thinking players operating under tremendous physical duress, where no one is permitted to fumble or drink Pimms.

The only issue with the code are the lack of real charismatic broadcasters who have a feel for the game, and journos who pretend they know everything about the game and come up empty most of the time, right Buzz?

Including nz we beat them last year by almost 30 million viewers

we added the dolphins who will add 8 million viewers

they added the gather round which adds 5 million for them

with the longer preseason and all stars worth another million

so the gap this year will be around 35 to 40 million viewers or close to 30 percent

afl can never catch us again in tv ratings

We only put roosters/dragons on fta a few years ago and this just goes to show how bad previous admins were.

its usually the top rating home and away season game of any code in Australia. And this year is a record for it.

the NRL was only shown into NSW/ACT & QLD yesterday afternoon & still would have cracked a mill
well over 500K for the later game
meaning roughly estimated that was the highest rating round of the year to date at around 6.4 mill

And the fumblers biggest annual club game of the year , whilst rating very well yesteday ,did little to stem the absolute hiding the aflol is getting from the NRL in 2023
