Sharks*, that's always the answer

*I haven't looked at the sharks draw

LOL, spot on:

"The Sharks have been handed the softest draw for the 2024 season, with Cronulla set to play eight games against this year’s bottom four sides while they’ll also play the fewest matches against top eight teams.

It’s a dream scenario for the Sharks who only have nine games against teams that played finals footy in 2023, with Craig Fitzgibbon’s men set to avoid the top teams from rounds 15-23."

Its amazing how they just ignore the fact that 2023 form does not equal 2024 form.

I mean playing the Cowboys in 2023, would have been considered hard by this criteria, but they ended up losing 12 games and finishing at the arse end of the table.

Of course

But you can only go on what you know and it seems reasonable that when every team doesn't play each other twice there is some effort to even the draw based on previous year's results.

Even if you use the 'don't know who is going to be good next year' excuse, that's now 3 years in a row where they've only had to play the prior year's grand finalists once each.

From a selfish point of view it is nice to have some arvo/twilight Storm home games so I can take my son. But it still does my head in that we are not playing at home in the last round when there is no AFL. Yet another opportunity missed

I assumed Perth was the easiest city to get around and the new stadium allowed you to drive right up to your seat. What a huge dissappointment.

Storm to miss the 8? That is a brutal draw not only playing most of last years top8 twice but Souths and Parra twice who are the strongest of the teams that missed the 8

edit: game without origin players will be against dolphins a game they would have otherwise expected to win
