He’s also shown you up to be a clueless imbecile when it comes to football. That’s not much of an achievement, granted, but it’s fun nonetheless.
He has proved exactly what I claimed. Don't write a bloke off just because he hasn't won anything in 15 years.

Cleary has continuously lost players and still found a way to get back every year and win. This loss of players makes it harder than previous eras...good on em.
I wish we could win 1...:(
Losing players but still replacing them with superior junior 'development' (poaching). This is a club that won Ball, Flegg, NSW Cup and first grade two years ago. In that reserve grade side were Queenslanders Iongi and Hopgood.

Relentless mistake free footy.

I had to google who won the Clive Churchill Medal this AM and was pleased to see that the 12 Liam Martin got it. Best on ground by far.

3. Martin
2. Grant
1. Yeo

Forwards win matches and the backs decide by how much. The score shows how much of an arm wrestle it was, with very limited opportunities to score points for both sides.

Only took him 2 years to undo the mess Elliott left him. It can never be underestimated how f**king dire we were when he arrived.

Who and what do you credit the 4 peat to? Gus, Cameron, Ivan, Nathan???

Just curious to hear it from someone who follows the Panthers.

All of them really.

No Gus and the ball never gets rolling. He bought Ivan and Cameron in.

Like everything it evolves. Gus needed to go when he did, and if he had stayed I don't think we would be where we are now.

It's one of those cases where all the sliding doors moments just came together at the end.

Gus said from the start his plan was to get to a point where he was redundant. Imo his most important and best decisions were made when we still ordinary on the field. The last few years he made some odd calls, still has the right to be very self satisfied for the foundation he built.

In saying all that I think Cameron's work since he arrived gets no where near the recognition it deserves. The bloke is a gun.

I’m watching NFL now.
Footy season is all year round for me.

This Powerade is going down well also. Not sure if anyone here knows but I had quite a few beers yesterday.
Understandable, if you were playing a drinking game where you’d have a shot every time they would play the ball by just rolling it on the ground.

Harry Grant?? Did you watch the game at all, he went missing like the rest of their spine players.

And then shat the bed again in 2015? More likely is the rebuild happened well above Cleary's pay grade and started when Gould got there and organised funding for all this very expensive investment.

Here's the academy opened after Cleary left: https://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news/2016/03/30/panthers-open-$22-million-academy/

Here's an article detailing how much it all cost and for long they have been sustaining this level of spending: https://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news/2022/05/02/panthers-reveal-the-price-of-success/

None of this began with Cleary coming to the club. And it seems he was only brought back when the Panthers were trying to retain his son. Here's Nathan denying rumours his new contract was linked to his dad getting another high paying job with the club:

A month later came the announcement that Nathan Cleary's dad would be returning as coach, presumably due to his stellar work at the Tigers: https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/10/29/penrith-panthers-confirm-return-of-ivan-cleary-as-coach/

Nothing to see here.
