Well most clubs don't ban the bloke from turning up to training.

It must be pretty toxic for that to happen

Yeah. I think he was perhaps a ring leader in the whole controversy with Ciraldo. Will be interesting if any othe relates get shits in the future. Quiete a few where not happy.

On Sen radio this morning they said channel 9 werent happy about the fact the Knights v Raiders is on a Thursday Night and wanted it swapped with the Eels v Bulldogs game for Round 1.

Ground availability has prevented it.

I think the club will win out if it stays Saturday Arvo/Evening should be a sellout with daylight savings still around in March. Compared to a Thursday night game where everyone is rushing from work and we saw us get screwed over last year with a few of those.

On Sen radio this morning they said channel 9 werent happy about the fact the Knights v Raiders is on a Thursday Night and wanted it swapped with the Eels v Bulldogs game for Round 1.

Ground availability has prevented it.

I think the club will win out if it stays Saturday Arvo/Evening should be a sellout with daylight savings still around in March. Compared to a Thursday night game where everyone is rushing from work and we saw us get screwed over last year with a few of those.

We had way too many Thursday/Friday games last season. I know so many people who had season tickets and couldn't make it to about half the games because of the stupid draw.
They need to release the draw before tickets go on sale so people can plan their year accordingly.

You left out the Sunday Night blockbuster against Gold Coast.

5 out of 11 games were rubbish slots last year and can't blame them.

2 x Friday 6pm
1 x Sunday 6:30pm

I think we'll get soaked by the new look Dogs tbh.

The "new look" Dogs that still don't have a spine outside of Reed Mahoney? They have five potential fullbacks who are transitioning from other positions due to their pay packets, a centre at 5/8 or halfback and a thousand utility players with no one to direct them around the park. They will be slightly better than last year but not by much. Mahoney, King and Preston will still have a mountain of work to do in the forwards to cover for Kikau, Curran and Knight..

They will get better but not early on....

There were rumours that the Dogs were asking for Matterson in return for releasing JAC, not that we were trying to offload him.

However, I do agree that every team tries to offload contracted players all the time. I imagine we were doing it with Nathan Brown.

I seriously hope that's a Melbourne home game. Otherwise we lose another home game to Commbank.

The fact that Melbourne have had a home game for every magic round suggests it would be and we haven't.

Avoiding a trip to Aami Park probably not the worst result.

Unless we have given up Darwin.

My membership package said 11 x Home games at Commbank. And the club is still promoting 11 home games at Commbank on the membership site.

Otherwise the club will have some fans even more angry that they have sold packages for 11 home games when there could be 10.

I think the Tele has made an typo error there with the order.

Storm have given up a home game for 5 x years at Magic Round and we never have. So i would say its a Storm home game.

All fair points. But I think they'll be primed to start this season with a win, and our guys will be in their usual we don't have to try or really focus to put teams to the sword mode.

Hope I'm wrong, but a Round 1 loss might be what our squad needs to really pull their fingers out and try and make the 8.

Lol at Canberra and Newcastle being rejected as an insufficient attraction for the season kick-off game!

I suspect Ch 9's voice is louder than our club's will ever be, and two sides who had poor seasons (but have big followings and a rivarly) will become the R1 Thursday night TV game.

Agreed. I especially liked it when they belted us 64-10 the last time we played them at Lang Park for Magic Round... Good times!!
