What about a 2pm on Saturday and make it 4 games.

You get 1 arvo, 2 twilight and a night game.

Or is that just too much for 1 day.

Sunday 7pm would be a hard sell with crowds. It's a shit timeslot to drag yourself to the footy.

Two problems there.

1. 2 pm Saturday is too hot early in the season (until about April/May.
2. The broadcasters don't give a shite about crowds. Sunday 7 pm is a prime slot for Fox. They'd be keen on that and the viewership numbers.

The AFL get more money than us and they have concurrent games on tv. We could do the same. The 5.30 pm game on Saturday would be a good time to play two games at the same time and just stick them on different channels.

To many games. Personally I'd double up a game and give the viewers choice. Friday 6pm I'd scrap and same as the 3pm Saturday game. Have two games at 7.30 Saturday and 4pm Sunday.

Parramatta Eels to host the Dolphins at TIO Stadium in 2024​

Territory NRL fans are in for another exciting fixture with the Parramatta Eels hosting the competition’s newest side in 2024.


The April 19 match will be a blockbuster clash between two sides who will be hunting some finals footy at the tail end of the season.

Parramatta Eels chief executive Jim Sarantinos said after a decade of playing in Darwin it felt like a real home away from home.

“It’s one of the trips that our playing squad looks forward to the most each season,” he said.

We have been thrashed the last 2 years by QLD sides.

If it happens again next year its time to end the junket and move on to another place.

The NRL clearly want to give us only QLD teams when playing there so why give up a home game advantage to them and 2 crucial points

Probably... but we could get $1 mill by taking some other team up there, or doing some deal with another more temperate area, like Perth.

Was the million dollars worth it this year for those crucial 2 points we gave up against Brisbane when we could have played them at commbank.

Which we missed the finals by 1 game.

We have milked it for 9 years now had some decent results but it's time to move on.

Clearly the NRL are going to just give us QLD sides when we play there so why bother.

The 3 clubs I would ask for are Storm, Warriors or Raiders. If the NRL won't schedule them then it's a waste a time going there.
