Agreed. I especially liked it when they belted us 64-10 the last time we played them at Lang Park for Magic Round... Good times!!
Come on BA got a 2 year extension from that result.

Not all was lost.

We did beat the Storm during Covid there last time we played and broke there chance to break the all-time record so it shouldn't fear us anymore.

I have heard this line for years now.
Do you really think that they only decided to re-sign him right after that game? I would bet that the deal was already done before the Eels even got on the plane for that game.

Probably the wrong idea to announce it after that demolition, but there's no chance the club only decided to re-sign him a couple of days after that game.

On 2023 form and ladder positions that is about as good as we could have hoped for, especially compared to the reaming draw we copped in season 2023...
Imagine the Dogs pants us and the Panthers then get a likely win at home. The pressure will be on and this place will erupt.

Yeah of course the deal was done before that game. It was strange they waited to get flogged by 60 to announce it yeah.

But its one of the few things i remember from that shit night tbh as i turned it off in disgust with 20 mins to go as Ryan Pap came on and was just giving us a bath.

In fact i reckon this year his extension was sorted and probably signed off before round 1.

We went 0/3 and were staring down the barrel of 0/5.

So they had to rush it out at an awkward time.

We should realistically achieve 4/5. If the team only wins 2 or less from our first five we should start looking at coaching alternatives.
Agree that Tigers game at one of their 6 home grounds may be difficult but those other 4 games are in the bag

Look its a long pre-season but fmd if we have our all our spine and 90% of the forward pack available there is deadset no reason we would lose to that mob at Commbank.

If its at Homebush you would expect a tougher contest.

But they didnt even come close to us this year in both games we thrashed them in.

The people in charge are absolute mental giants.

Beginning of the season can often be a bit of a crapshoot. Whilst we will be favourites and should win, I don’t see it as any sort of certainty. This first game worries me.

Panthers will be difficult, despite the fact we have fared well against them in the regular season recently.

Will Turbo play for Manly? They are a different side whenever he’s on the field. Could go either way.

Our record in Canberra is shocking. We’ve gotten the win last couple of times down there, but it is historically a place we do not win.

Tigers seem to aim up against us for some reason. Even when we win it’s like we struggle to put them away most of the time. Pisses me off.

It looks like a decent opening draw at first glance, but it could turn to shit very quickly. I hope we come out of the gates fired up.

In saying that once a 9th game comes into the draw in a few years. Where is the extra game going to go Monday Night again or Sunday Night. I dont think the NRL want to overlap games.
good question

I hope they don't return to Monday night .... and I imagine it makes scheduling harder in terms of turn around days???

my guess would be Sunday

Like the Broncos should have anything to complain about.

They literally had 3 games in Sydney last season. Had an extra 2 games at Suncorp got Souths at the Sunshine Coast, us at Darwin.

They will probably still get 15/16 Friday night games.
