The state of cricket in Australia is f**ked, we have no decent top order batsmen besides Clarke who is turning into a cripple, we are going to be shit for many more years to come

A part of me actually thinks it would be better to follow on. We need to get back out there again and try to undo this mess asap. Getting to within 190 and then fielding for 2 days while they get a lead of 500+ is the last thing we need.

I hope we're all out down by 201, getting back in there and get 300+ and having something to bowl to.

Yea lets plan to set England a target of about 100 in the last innings of a test match on probably about day 4. Australia will want to send England back in and work towards a draw, cook being a conservative captain will probably want to set Australia a fairly large target of around 400 or so using up plenty of time in the process hopefully.

You seen George Bailey's first class stats especially last season, he averaged about 10! I still maintain that Ferguson despite his flaws would be a good number 4, at least until Jordan Silk comes in.
Nah I have not seen his first class stats, that's a shame because he seems to have a fair bit of composure and application towards his batting in the one day game which is badly needed in the test team.

I'll make the prediction that the bottom 6 batsmen will outscore the top 5 batsmen this innings for Australia.

The odds of that happening yet again are virtually zero. If I was a bookie I'd be giving 50 to 1 odds and planning my next holiday.

If you're willing to give me 50:1 odds, I'll put $20 on it, thanks.

How would you like to make the payment? I can send you my paypal details via PM if that suits you.

The best young bats are probably Jordan Silk, and Alex Doolan who made a 161 against the South African touring side last summer. However they are young, blooding them over there could be a disaster. The people in the mid bracket are Bailey (with no FC form) and Ferguson (is he match fit yet?). The cupboard is very, very bare!

Warner would be there if not for a massive twatto tantum. If we need a 30 odd then let's get Cowan back. At least he is not a cancer.

Watson as proven, is our best opener. At 0-40 I bet you were not saying that. Poor shot granted, but Warner wouldn't have lasted that long anyway!

Fan of Maddinson too but I wouldn't rush him either.

Doesn't seem that long ago that quality like Lehmann, Elliot, Law, Richard Chee Quee, could barely get a Test. Now look at these hacks.

Yea tough ask to debut them over in England and they should not have that demanded of them, I would like to see Doolan get a game during the series over here at some point and for silk to come into the side 12-18 months later. If Hughes and co continue to struggle perhaps Bailey and ferguson should be given the opportunity to see if they can rise to the occasion and take the step up.

If we are thinking of Bailey, I would rather gamble a bit and put Jordan Silk in, at least he will value his wicket and at least he won't be stupid.

People on here moan and groan about Ussie...well he gets a chance and tries to hit Swann out of the park. Watson's shot was bad, Khawaja's was deplorable!
