Starc is too good for this lot.

The thing cricket fans (and geniuss like Warne) never seem to understand is that guys like Starc will go through periods of being less effective. It happens to all high pace fast bowlers. They're much more susceptible to small issues with their action or their confidence. But it often also only takes a few wickets to get everything working again

Yeah it's only Sri Lanka, but for a guy like Starc it doesn't really matter

Starc bowling better which is good to see but still has the ability to bowl a Steve Harmison ball that misses the wicket.

It's a pity CA are so tight or they'd hire Warne as Starc's very own personal dressing room cheer leader on a permanent basis.

Richardson has no wickets in this test, big fall from grace after the first test considering the opposition.

Yep, Starc is only ever an over away from finding some form.

It’s hilarious that Warne craps on about X Factor with a plodder like Stoinplod and then there is someone we have with an X factor and he campaigns like a jilted lover to have him dropped.

I think people understand this, but it hasn’t been a short period. He really didn’t bowl well at all in 2018.

If he goes 2-3 tests down on form that’s no big deal, but a whole year will get noticed.

Didn't he?

I mean he only took 9/100 odd at Kingsmeade. Then everything around Smyth and Warner blew up, then he was the sole decent quick in the UAE and then India gave us a pasting.

He played nine Tests or something and still got 31 wickets at 33. Is that his best? Obviously not. But is it worth the howling that it's generated? Also, obviously not.

Realistically he was poor for a handful of tests and decent at worst for the rest

Since the Sydney test in 2018 he’s had 8 tests where he took 3 wickets or less. For our main strike bowler that’s poor.
