Beale has been playing in the centres for the last few years and training there also. maybe someone who has been playing on the wing for the same amount of time would have positioned himself far better, maybe not. He did a good job to get to the ball and take it on the full, the catch had to be made, it could have ended up anywhere.
It was a great kick to land so close to the sideline, he takes that and stays infield, he probably gets thrown out anyway.

for all money it would've bounced straight into a cowboys players hand had he let it bounce.

doesn't matter anyway

Thurston whinged

it was the equivalent of knocking the ball dead.
had to be done

It was purely an insanely good kick.
The game was too close to f**k around.

dont agree

the synthetic balls rarely pop

for all money that ball would have gone into touch if it bounced

better positioning from the winger and that situation does not happen

never seen feki make the same play

must have been one of those perfect storm kicks hey

In commentary that asked Minichello what he would have done said same thing as Beale.

Couple of years back we would have let in bounce and hope we got ball back, these days we back our defence to come up with the plays

Hard to be critical of anyone in Sharks colours at the moment. It's not as if we were playing the Knights or some other nuffy team. Was a bloody good kick and was being chased by plenty of Cowboys. He did the right thing.

can't believe we're arguing about beales take.

the only thing he could've done. and did it well.

great kick that forced a quick decision and that's what we got from beale.

And we all have the luxury of being able to watch it 1,000 times on replay if we want. He had a couple of seconds *in that moment* to make a decision.

certainly feej

watched it again just now

he is standing too far in field, instead of just coming forward to the ball then hitting the deck he has to leg it towards the sideline

big mistake at a crucial stage of the game, we concede there and we lose that game

got to be better than that

funny how winning changes perceptions on things

anyway its more fun to bash tagataese, leutele or feki when they f**k up

someone pls put a vid link to this.

I dunno what else he could have done...I have only seen it live and on the replay on the big screen.

Maybe Beale had done video work on thurstons kicking and was pre empting a different kick.
He might have put a short one in for all those blokes who were chasing it.
Thurston might have seen Beale had been watching so he went for the line instead.
who knows?

we won.

I have seen feki take dangerous attacking kicks out of play plenty of times as do all players

And you even claim to know the ball would bounce out

Wow

You are surely one of the most impressive arm chair coaches in history

Where in what I said gives you any information that I think he should be standing outside the field of play?

you're a deadest halfwit

Watch how wingers attack kicks to the corner

Come from the sideline, IN THE FIELD OF PLAY, towards the ball

tell me a scenario where the opposite, which Beale did, is acceptable?

it's about positioning for the catch

which way was he facing when he caught the kick?

break it down for me, tell me your thoughts on the play?

I don't need a villain, quite the opposite actually

gets pretty tiring arguing a point with half wits like yourself just because you feel you need to take the opposing argument

let it go, it was a monumental error, there is no argument

but go on....as you will

come on millers tell us your thoughts?
