Warner getting sacked from the opening position cos these dudes batted out a few overs lol

no, because I think he would bat well in the middle order and strengthen it and his style would go well with the tail.
Also we have plenty of guys who could average 25 at opener like he has over the last year or so.

I don't agree with that. I think Warner is a very good player, and he's shown he can absolutely score runs in tough situations. I think the issue is he's been pretty out of form, and that kind of player wants to get bat on ball and feel their way back into form...

He rarely got tough conditions against relentless truly high quality bowling. I don't think there is a single bowler Warner faced, other than arguably Dale Steyn, who match the consistency and class of Wasim, Waqar, Donald, Ambrose, Pollock, Saqlain, Shoaib, Murali, McGrath, Warne. The very best of this generation would sit, even then arguably, at the next level down with Bond, Gillespie, Lee, Kumble etc.

The current top 10 test bowling rankings are ridiculous to be honest, Steyn aside. Every one of them blow hot or very cold, and need favourable conditions to suit their niche.

But, again, I'm not saying drop him or even demote him.

For what the game is today, he's perfectly fine.

You're arguing a hypothetical, but if Warner had grown up in that era, there is absolutely nothing to say that he would even be the same player....so it's a bit of a moot point anyway. All I'm saying is that he is a very good player who has been struggling for form and I don't agree that he'd ever be a C grade player.

you'd drop a broke averaging 48?
Yes I would as it is a false average. All of his runs are on batter friendly wickets as soon as there is movement he fails. You can't put him down the order as well as he can't face reverse swing.

He might be dumb as shit but he has come up with some strong knocks in tough situations.

Scary to think that we had to pick a 20 yr old for someone to finally leave well, occupy the crease and make the bowlers bowl at them.

What 4 regulation catches and a stumping a Sub districts 3rd grade keeper could of taken??? He did give everyone a headache though.
That was very good the stumping.

Nevill probably wouldn't have been that quick.

He did his job and it's hilarious you can't admit that.

Just wait until he takes a very good catch, you'll have egg on your face.

Im Wades number 1 fan
I don't like him and I don't hate him.

He does annoy me a tad.

But he deserves this chance and as long as his keeping is better than it was he will be fine. Plus I am more confident in his batting than Nevill.

Exactly. He did his job. Whilst that may be a very good effort for Wade, who is a very poor keeper, the fact that he did the absolute minimum required of him as a wicketkeeper is hardly reason to shout his name from the rooftops.
