Now you're talking like the famous Antilag, the numbers back then mean nothing in comparison to now.

Slater didn't crunch big flash numbers but he faced nightmare attacks and was ahead of his time in approach.

No doubt he faced some wicked bowlers. Apart from Pakistan he also struggled against them.

Numbers are numbers, to an extent. Yeah there are plenty of variable but the fact is Slats actually wasn't very good against those nightmare attacks. Much like Warner has been shown up by quality bowling on less batsman friendly wickets. And it's not like Warner has faced mugs his whole career either

Warner averages 37 in England, 13 in NZ, 24 in India, 27 in Sri Lanka, 27 in West Indies

Warner is a test quality batsman, and I would rate him above Slater, but not sure he can be considered genuine world class until he picks up more runs overseas.

No I agree. 100%. Warner has his deficiencies.

The point was that he's not some kind of sign that test cricket is rotten as others implied. He's a good player who would have a role in any era of test cricket (whether he would win a spot is a different discussion, obviously)

Yeah. Meh. There isn't really a strong argument either way to be honest the more I think about it.

On that previous review....who rules whether or not he's playing a shot? Because I think it was an iffy attempt at a shot tbh....

Definitely should be the on field umpire making that decision. The 3rd umpires job is to review the original decision.

I have no problem with Renshaw, if they persist with him and let him grow it will pay off big time in the long run. Looks a similar player to Chanderpaul, Pujara, Kraigg Brathwaite etc., classic test cricket needs mental toughness and patience not this bowled for < 100 bullshit.

But yeah, commentators and social media are fapping over Warner and ripping into Renshaw at the moment which is sad. I think the pair of them with 3. Uz 4. Smiff should be a lock in.

On a similar note, what's with all this ridiculous panic about Amla? Dude has a bit of a lean patch and everyone is going nuts about how he's lost it.

they should get Sterlo, Joey or Rabs into the cricket commentary box. I just want someone in there who wont feel the urge to talk all the time and doesn't sound like they have all the answers.
It would also cross promote Nines sports. If this was on seven how many effing GFL references would there be???
