Cook always whinges. Massive hypocrit that bloke. In an ODI earlier this year, Finn knocked off the bails at the bowlers end and was promptly dispatched for 4. Cook tried to get the umpire to rule dead ball. Its a farce of a rule. Its a BCCI type ruling in England's favour with Finn.

Brownlie needs a big score here. Nothing less than 50, that's for sure

Hey Pistol, Baz hit that one you merkin - perhaps go help the Poms out and go and help them retrieve it from the pickets.

Would you drop Brownlie if he fails this Test? That'd be harsh imo. He earned at least two more series after his efforts in South Africa.

Not sure. But, at the moment, I'd view him as the most vulnerable of the top 6. I guess I'm somewhat always hoping for Ryder to return, and he doesn't look close, so that makes Brownlie safer.

Well, actually, Taylor kinda needs to find his groove again too.

Yeah the only way Brownlie should be dropped is if Ryder returns. Certainly not for someone like Guptil.

McCullum falls to the dibbly dobbly bowling of Trott. New Zealand are not icing the match in this innings, very poor batting today. Basically 5/100, in what, 40-45 overs after being in a very dominant position. Too much Sydney or the bush batting, no one is looking to push for singles. Looks like they're batting with very clouded minds today.

I think New Zealand will want 40-50 minutes at the Poms tonight, so I actually think Southee is the key to getting to 500. That second six he hit off Broad was straight out of the middle. Wonderful stroke that was.

Should go hard for the next 10-12 overs, declare or be bowled out for around 480-500 ideally then get one before stumps.

If you look at his record he's actually done alright for a guy who usually comes in at 9. Needs to work on playing guys above 135kph if he wants to become a genuine allrounder, ala Vettori.

If he didn't try to slog every single delivery Afridi style he'll be fine. The key to Vettori was shot selection.

Ian Bell with nearly the world's biggest brain fade, almost run out going for 2 to fine leg. Only a desperate dibe saves him. What an idiot.

Bye bye Compton. The guy basically batted himself into a hole not scoring for about 50 minutes, got a good one there from Southee though. England playing very nervously.

Poms going nowhere fast and the Kiwi's bowling well. if they can jag another one here soon the pressure is on this much vaunted and overated Pommy batting line up.
