3 tests and not a single 50. He'll get another opportunity, and rightly so. But he hasn't done enough to dislodge Hughes yet. Hughes probably get's the nod, only cause of his 2 centuries. He'd want to start making some runs though.

you're a pretty tough marker, that first test pitch was very tough and he played the spin very well, excellent footwork

if Hughes gets dropped for anyone it should be Kat imo

How does centuries two years ago keep him in the team? If he's out of form he has to go

It doesn't but first impressions count, and Khawaja has scored nothing but a few 30s. Their both been fairly dominant in first class cricket, but i reckon the only fact that Hughes gets the nod is because he has made a score at test level.

Looks like these selectors will react to form more readily than Hildud and co

big fan of Hughes' agression but the more I see of him the more I'm starting to doubt his longevity

I'd prefer for it to be

Marsh
Watson
Khawaja
Pointing
Clarke
Hussey

Dont get me wrong, I'd prefer Khawaja over Hughes but he needs to put a score on the board next time he get's a chance or he'll go back to the end of the queue.

I'm a bit irritated that Ricky 'I'll bat at 3 till the bitter end' Ponting was willing to move to accomodate Marsh, but not Khawaja.

Still a boys club in the Australian side.

Hughes will be on his last chance when we get to Seth Efrika..

They will give him a chance to get back to form in the only place he has prospered..

I'll probably be called mad,but i'd put Warner in for Hughes..

The future of our batting attack is giving me a few concerns, once we lose 2 all time greats in Ricky & Huss..

No one in the Shield scored massive amounts of runs last year,so our depth is a problem..

This pitch looks flatter than the last test..And that thing was an airport runway..

Hughes & Doris Watson must be sitting in the sheds giving each other uppercuts..

Wonder if Copeland can do a Vaas, sounds like a swinging wicket so best chance for him to swing it in SL.

It's unfortunate that Countries from the subcontintent can't prepare decent pitches. It's always either a road, or something that last's 3 days. It's quite funny to see how much Sri Lanka and India struggle to win matches without the great spinners they once had.

Story of the last test. A bit of application goes a long way!

Yep..That's why i don't like seeing Watson open in tests..Even more so in sub-continental conditions where he has to face spin a lot earlier..I'd bat him 5 or 6..

I'd love to see Hughes be one of our openers long term, but his technique problems become more glaring each innings he bats..

I see your point..

I also am focused only on Australian cricket,so i think our players have to find a way to adapt to conditions world wide..Ordinary pitches are just part of test cricket..More so in the poorer cricketing nations, without the huge pitch preparation budgets of Australia,England & SA..

India have no excuses though..But the BCCI are a disgrace for too many reasons to list here..
