I'd get over Katich if I were you lot. Was shafted but I understand and agree with the reason behind it. Should have been Ponting but we know that wasn't going to happen unless he walked himself.
Yeah, um, okay.
Perhaps he does, but he hasn't proved it yet. Every other player in the pecking order has performed over a period of time. Even Hughes (although his form over the past 18 months, other than the end of the last domestic season, has been questionable).
Warner has shown some form over the past 12 months but that doesn't mean shit. He needs to prove he can do it consistently. So, he still has a LONG way to go before he should seriously be considered for Test cricket.
I will say one thing though, I'm impressed that he has noted that he doesn't want to be pigeon-holed and wants to prove himself in the longer form. There are a lot of young players coming through now who couldn't give a shit because of the dollars on offer in Twenty20 etc.
Well he's considered for test cricket as we speak since he's over there
Clarke looking iffy... Needs runs otherwise we might replace him with Katich who is the Savior of Australian cricket.
That's nice TT, if you believe he should be in the side just say so.
He has played nine first class games but if you think that's enough, all good. We can continue on with our usual random selection policy.
HevyDevy out of interest what would your batting line up look like?..
I've already said he deserves consideration that's all there is to it
Herp derp derp.
At this particular moment:
Katich 36
Watson 30
Marsh 28
Ponting 36
Clarke 30
Hussey 36
Haddin 33
Khawaja would be lingering on the fringes with Ponting edging closer to the end
Now that is how you rebuild a test side after getting raped on home soil in an Ashes series..
Should probably drop everyone over 30 then, yeah?
Yep that is exactly what I am saying.:sarcasm:
