I reckon they should fly out a completely new team for the 4th test, give a few new/old faces a go.

1 - N.Maddinson
2 - J.Silk
3 - A.Doolan
4 - G.Bailey (c)
5 - J.Burns
6 - J.Faulkner
7 - C.Hartley (vc)
8 - S.O'Keefe
9 - A.Agar
10 - R.Harris
11 - B.Hilfenhaus

Scary thing is that side actually looks half decent - especially when compared to the current mob!

In-fact, I reckon you could keep that 11 with maybe only 3-4 of the current Test squad thrown in instead and you would immediately have a better side than the one in India. Let's have a practice and throw in three players only. I'd go with:

E. Cowan
N. Maddinson
A. Doolan
M. Clarke
J. Burns
J. Faulkner
C. Hartley
S. O'Keefe
A. Agar
R. Harris
J. Pattinson

Not a terrible squad.

It's not hard to scrape up a better side than what our selectors have been dishing up since Old man Invers has taken over.

So you people are mad that X who has shitty domestic form is in the team but Maddinson who is averageing 35 this season is just fine. Or Burns who averages 34.

In terms of Maddinson and Burns its a case of well we can't do any worse. In terms of Doherty he's been around a long time and has always been bog average and add to that can't buy a wicket in shield cricket

X is the worst spin bowler ever to play Test cricket. Other than Cameron White.

Clarke's ailing back to help Watson..

Date March 20, 2013 - 6:09PM Chris Barrett Sports Writer

DELHI: Shane Watson is readying himself for the prospect of leading Australia in the fourth and final Test against India on Friday after captain Michael Clarke failed to train on Wednesday.

Clarke is battling to overcome a back injury sustaining during the third Test in Mohali and is continuing to receive treatment on the long-running problem, which has troubled him for nearly half his life, in a bid to play.

However, he only appeared briefly at the team's training session at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Wednesday, speaking with co-selectors Mickey Arthur and Rod Marsh and inspecting the pitch.

Arthur, meanwhile, spoke at length with Watson before the vice-captain took to the practice nets with bat in hand.

Watson only arrived back in India on Tuesday after flying home for the birth of his son last Thursday. He had been stood down for the third Test in Mohali, alongside James Pattinson, Mitchell Johnson and Usman Khawaja, for a breach of team discipline. All are available, however, for selection for the fourth Test.

Opener Ed Cowan said Watson had been welcomed back with open arms and was more than capable of leading if required.

"He is a senior player around the group and it is important those kinds of players are on board because we need those guys for this team to be the best team in the world. There is no doubt he is on board with the team moving forward," Cowan said.

"Shane is more a lead by example kind of fellow in terms of how he prepares. He doesn't leave many stones unturned in terms of preparation and the way he has performed across all formats for a long period of time, that is an example in itself. He is a very different leader to Michael but we're hoping Michael is fine for this Test. He's such a great batsman and we need his runs and his leadership. We're hoping he will be fit."

Even if you rolled Doherty, Maxwell, Smith, Henriques and Lyon in to one, you still wouldn't get someone close to the talent of Glenn Trimble.

Maddinson has been poor. Burns has been batting well of late and is probably the best young bat in the country. Also averages 42 at Shield level overall. He has a tremendous upside. Doherty is shithouse and has no upside.

Doherty's shit form was combined with a shield career average of 45 with the ball. He is crap.

Doherty is tripe, get that through your rather thin brain of yours. He bowls darts, couldn't turn a door nob with his deliveries and you want him in the test side. My goodness. And Doherty has worse domestic form you muppet! He averages 80 with the ball! Maddinson and Burns haven't been great but an average of 35 with the bat is similar to an average of 35-40 with the ball! Doherty is TWICE as bad!

Very good leadership potential from what I've seen of him as well, good head on his shoulders, possibly even the next Australian captain.

4 tests, 20 wickets at 21.90 with a SR of 65.5 and an ER of 2.0 Has dismissed the best batsmen in the world 5 out of 6 innings.
Not bad start to a career for a 24 year old. Australia would love to have his crap right now.

I doubt if Jadeja will go down as a great spinner but he's a far better bowler than the likes of Tahir, McGain or Doherty.

Or f**king Big Show.

Cowan apparently had a whinge about team mates to Pup and Mickey according to SMH.

He does strike me as an ass licker who will do everything except bat well to keep his place in the team, even if it means stepping on/running out team mates.
