50 worst buys in NRL history

Yep - he was a bog average NRL fullback - but was supposed to be Slater-esque

For the coin he was on, a huge disappointment - but added value on and off the field, not a cancerous prick like the fullback that he replaced... and now we have RTS, so nothing lost, step forward from Locke, and now we have someone who's looking like he'll develop into something special (hopefully before he swaps to union)

tbh I still think the guy is as talented as they come and maybe would have thrived in a different team or under a different coach. Also had a pretty bumpy ride with injuries.

Interesting to see how he performs against NZ in a couple of weeks. (Is he fit?)

How is 1 not either of

Albert Kelly (Sharks)
Karl Filiga (Sharks)

Given what the Sharks paid for them.

Good call on Kirk Reynoldson, that was a doozy by us.

I agree with Tomkins not being number one but don't forget along with his disappointing form he was also injured every second game it seemed like.

Needs more players who attempted to make a comeback.
Daniel Fitzhenry and Jason Moodie for Tigers.
Mick De Vere for Broncos.

the $ per sh!thouse performance needs to be the main factor i think. Paying peanuts to just over bare minimum for numpties isn't quite the same as the ridiculous coin that the likes of barba, tomkins and sandow recieved

Tomkins probably shouldn't crack the 50.

Was Tahu allegedly on real money?

The second coming of Shane Webcke, Joel Clinton not on the list?

To be honest I don't think he would have. He's too small, not quick enough, not a good defender (ie too small). His ball skills would make him a good 6 but again, too small to defend. Never bothered to bulk up in NZ or couldn't.

Other teams might've been able to carry him better but he wouldn't have been a star, or even been top 10 1s in the league.

Given what the Sharks paid for them.

Given that Filiga was incentive based and played 10 minutes, we paid next to nothing for him.

What did we pay Albert Kelly? And his 2011 season was outstanding until he broke his leg.

He was alright... a good squad filler.

Spent a lot of time injured I suppose. Like basically missed an entire year with injury.

Knights fans just can't let go
Joel Edwards was a perfectly decent player for us
No superstar but did his job well enough

He can put a hit on apart from that his found wanting in defence quite often and his f**king useless in attack, lucky to make 20 metres a game.

Maybe for the Knights but i watched basically every minute he played for our FG team and he was just your run of the mill, inoffensive bog standard FGer for us.
He wouldnt be in the Raiders top 50 worst buy's ever let alone the NRL's

He was the same for us. One of best forwards in 2011 which is pretty sad.
