You are only as good as your last innings- Hughes was very patchy, despite Strauss being an idiot in claiming that "catch". I have said all along though that we should have persisted with Hughes as I would have backed him to come good, you don't score twin test centuries if you can't bat. I would have dropped Hussey. Watson at 4, Hughes/Katich opening.

I like Watson but he is no No.4, imo he is better suited to the 6 or 7 spot. Plus batting there would make it a bit easier for him to get his bowling back to a level where he could be relied on as a second or third change in our attack. In saying that, who's knows if his body can hold up to being an all-rounder.

Oh lay off Hussey. Look how slow Ponting set off. If he'd gone hard he would have been fine.

Anyway, incredible stuff by Flintoff. I suppose we all should have known he'd have at least one moment in the test.
