All this blaming players aside.

And this is true of every single sport on this planet. A team is a product of their coach. This team is in disarray. Ever since Nielsen has become coach of this team, out batting has gone downhill. Co-incidence?? Our bowling has gone downhill. Co-incidence? Our fielding and fundamentals have taken a nose dive. Co-incidence?

The firing of Nielsen is the first thing that must be done after this series is over. In any other sport, the coach would take the fall. Many coaches have taken falls for much less.

Nielsen must GO!

ffs, it pitched outside leg, you haven't seen at at all have you ?

Yes I have seen it, and yes it was going over the top of the stumps. So what if it pitched outside leg, if his feet were moving forward he may have either hit the ball or left the ball, both better options than what he chose!

lol, people suggesting Hughes should go after 6 poor innings.

Yet a lot are probably big fans of Watson.

Lets not forget his first 13 innings shall we

257 runs @ 19.77 with just one 50 to his name.

Isn't it amazing what persistence does?

Watson has always had the technique though, there is the issue not to mention he was playing as a bowling all-rounder anyway. Hughes has a weird technique at the best of times. Plus he can't play a short ball at all, and it is plain obvious that he needs to learn how to play a short ball.

Gee there is some ridiculous Hughes love on here. Yep it was a good ball. But now he has failed in 6 digs. If that was anyone else they had brought in they would be getting an absolute bollocking on here

Yep, the last 6 digs he's failed and 14 of his past 15 overall since his 2 tons a couple of years ago. He's made 33, 32, 36, 4, 17, 0, 37, 20, 86*, 2, 12, 16, 23, 31, 13 for an average of 25.

In Watson's last 15 he's made 24, 126, 56, 57, 32, 36, 41*, 51, 57, 13, 95, 5, 54, 45, 38, for and average of 52.

Now you reckon the bloke averaging 52 in the same period would be getting all the plaudits and the bloke averaging 25 would be getting sh*t canned by everyone and not the other way around wouldn't you?

Ummm ... he has been dealing with the short ball without many issues this series.

Nope, to open with Lynn or Cosgrove. I am happy to trial a few options, I have seen enough of the Hughes fiasco in the last 3 tests to suggest he needs 2 seasons to sort out his flaws.

Lynn is not an opener and if Maddison isn't ready sure as hell Lynn isn't you suck you really do.

A lot of them are Kiwis which is baffling since it isn't their concern. The Victorians I can understand they've had a chip on their shoulder for a century and many of them believe Darren Berry should have played over Ian Healy so take them with a grain of salt. Throw up Steve Waugh's first few years in test cricket that'd make some interesting reading.

Watson has run out 3 people this series including himself

what do you think the common denominator is ?

Yes he's been involved in run-outs, most which were mostly his own fault, but in this case both were to blame as they just jogged through for the first run. If they ran hard for both runs, they would have comfortably got 2.

The fact that both didn't run the first run hard, led to the opportunity for the run out.

I'm just trying to bring a little bit of objectivity to it because with the NSW love in here there isn't much objectivity at all.

We persisted with Watson who performed worse with the bat, and he is now a better player for it.

We persist with Hughes and he too will become a better batsmen who scores consistently better in the not too distant future.
