The NRL will amend its draw to resolve a scheduling clash for the Round 25 match between the Bulldogs and Panthers at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
The NRL is working with the Bulldogs and the Stadium to resolve the issue.
“We are in a situation where despite the best of intentions on all sides a clash has occurred and we are looking at rescheduling the order of our games,” NRL Director of Marketing and Commercial, Mr Paul Kind, said today.

Looks like the NRL will move.

And before the emotional hysterics start, it's not about winning or losing, it's not even about NRL and AFL. This could have been a concert up against a union game. It's about what is in the contracts. And that has been made clear with the above statement.

Afl will win this. Swans v hawks likely to get 60k + where as dogs v penriff would be lucky to get 12k

Anz stadium would have a massive say on this due to it being a business. Any muppets on this forum thinking the dogs game will get a bigger crowd needs to give themselves a massive uppercut.

Fans need to realise anz stadium pays our clubs to play their, they need money to do so. So it would be stupid for them to turn down the chance of a 60k+ crowd for the afl.

It's not the point at all. The Swans match will get the same crowd no matter which day it is played on. If the Bulldogs booked it in first, then ANZ should be paying compensation because now we need to find a new venue to play at, or have the match shifted to another day, which may mean both clubs lose TV exposure.

You exaggerate but the gist of what you say is correct.

I predict it will be 50k compared to 20k, not 60 to 12. But I do think ANZ stadium as a business do have final right to make a decision as they are the customer paying for these games.

Again depending on contracts this may happen. I obviously don't know the details of the agreements but there could be something allowing for financial compensation by ANZ if a game is moved by them.

Logic suggests the NRL would not be moving if it didn't have to move. And it would only have to move if the contract with the ANZ says so. Putting 2 and 2 together, one would think that is in the contract and that's the end of that.

It should be as simple as first in with a confirmed booking gets the ground, but as much as it pains me to admit it, Bunniesman is probably right that it will likely come down to the contract signed by the Bulldogs in terms of their tenancy agreement of the stadium.

If that is the case, is this another blow to Toddy G's mantle of being the greatest sports administrator in the history of the world? Because surely no top shelf Admonistrator would leave themselves open to being shafted like this would they?

He probably worked in some compensation, or bonus if they shifted due to scheduling issues.

This shows how stupid the NRL is - selling tickets to a match without confirming that the venue was actually available.
Soon as NRL released Rnd 25 a few weeks back, the AFL came out and said that they had booked the venue, yet it took this long for the NRL to realise.
How do these things happen?
With the Swans likely to host a final in week 1 or 2 of the NRL finals, I bet the AFL have already booked ANZ for then as well.
Swans would rather play at SCG, but contracts are contracts (Swans deal with ANZ ends 2016).

ANZ will benefit more financially from the Swans game.

The Bulldogs/Panthers game will attract no way near as many people. It will be moved.

Not a chance in hell that they'll get 60k to the Swans game. They'll be lucky to crack 40K. They got 57k to their home final last year, and 47k to their regular season match versus Collingwood.

What reason do you have for thinking that this match would draw the biggest AFL crowd at ANZ in 7 years? The Swans steadily dropping home averages? The fact they'd be playing a team that draws much less than Collingwood (the opposition for all regular season crowds over 50k at ANZ)??

Typical baseless NRL bashing.

The NRL should be asking a lot of questions about this.

How did the AFL book the ground for this night when their draw hadn't been decided yet? If their draw had been decided and they hadn't publicly released the information they still should have told the stadiums management who should have informed the NRL.

Did the AFL book the ground for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to cover all their bases? If so how can that be allowed? If so why doesn't the NRL book the ground for every single day during their season?

There is something very dodgy going on here, but then we are dealing with the most ethically and morally corrupt sporting code in the world.

And you need to give yourself a massive uppercut if you think the swans will get 60k+

They haven't got anything like that in years at ANZ.

And if one of the dogs or panthers are in contention for the 8 ( in particular the dogs) it will get 20k easily.
