ANZ stadium

Wow. Paranoid much? What I'm saying applies because it's not a one off, it's not just about Souths doing well, it's Souths AND the Dogs. In the opening post I put no more emphasis on us doing well than I did on the Dogs doing well. It had nothing to do with "rubbing it in". You're the one who made it about that.

Rigt o champ. So ANZ is better than Suncorp, SFS and AAMI because their tenants are doing better at the moment

The point about its tenants doing well was to address the criticism about it as a home ground. That it can be a fortress and a great place to play home games.

As for AAMI and Suncorp, in the OP I was talking about the "best stadium in Sydney".

I think overall it's better than the SFS.

Location and public transport also plays a part in how good a stadium is and in those two counts it shits on the SFS.

30k at the SFS is a better atmosphere for rugby league than 80k at ANZ.

The location argument is an objective one, for me the SFS is way more convenient. A direct tram line to the SFS and direct services from the city to all footy games at ANZ would improve the accessibility of both venues.

It's my team's home ground. Am I not entitled to like it?

Couldn't agree more on public transport in the sense that if every Swans game there gets the treatment, the NRL should work something out too. Get direct services from Central involved.

As for driving, I haven't had any trouble in a few years - advice, enter from the Silverwater side. If you're coming from the city it would be arguably quicker to take the M2 or Vic Rd out toward Carlingford and drop down through Marsden.

If it's WT turf, why the f**k aren't your club playing there?

You really this stupid?

ANZ gets criticism from everyone for being a terrible place to play home games and giving no home ground advantage blah blah blah, but odds are the two regular ANZ stadium tenants will finish 1st and 2nd with 2 of the best home records in the comp.

Maybe it's time to give ANZ a bit of credit, next to SFS it's the best stadium in Sydney when the crowd gets above 20k. The atmosphere is fantastic with decent crowds. We're trying to build the game to average 20k+ so ANZ has to be the cornerstone of the game in the years to come.

The stadium is a great place to watch footy, very comfortable with all the amenities you'd want. And Canterbury and South Sydney are showing it's also a great place to call home and play footy at.

So enough with the ANZ hate. Let's show the stadium some love.

Mr. Bunniesman, what you've just posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it.

I worded it awkwardly in the original post.

When I said "next to" SFS I didn't mean "not counting SFS". I meant "in comparison to".

Have never had a bad experience and think a lot of the noise is down to whinging aussies looking for an excuse to stay at home and watch on tv.

Facilities are awesome, the viewing in lower bowl and 2nd tier is fine. Upper tier is fine on big occasions

Money is a part of it but not the only benefit. It is so much better located than the SFS. It is close to public transport and in the geographic heart of the city

I travel to Olympic Park every weekday for work; it's a merkin of a location to get to. Only people that live in Newington, Silverwater or Lidcombe like it. Two f**king trains if you get PT from as far away as Strathfield or Auburn.

I'd rather catch two trains to a place with soul. ANZ is a concrete cemetery, bad visibility, shit acoustics.

What makes you think you can live in a major city and have easy access to a major stadium? Try getting to twickenham or wembley across London. It's the nature of 4mill plus cities with ltd public transport.

London doesn't have limited public transport however. Its a piece of piss to get to and from Wembley and Twickers.

You could go to a rock concert at Wembley with 90K on Saturday night or a Cup final on a Saturday and be back in Central London in 30mins. Wembley has two tube stations, and two train stations, and a shitload of buses.

They way the crowd is controlled down the main chase is a thing of beauty.

I paid $100 to catch a taxi to Homebush from George Street a couple of months ago and it took about an hour.

Dunno...maybe 30-40 mins....probably 10 - 15 min wait for the train, then waiting again for the 2nd train

This is early early morning, not game time

From central London yes, just as it is easy, cheap and quick to get from central Sydney to anz.

All of that is bullshit. How do I do any of that to any greater extent than the average forum poster.

We joined these forums around the same time - actually I think I was here slightly earlier and I consider myself a fairly prolific poster.

In that time I've posted less than 3,000 times whilst you have posted more than 13,000 times. Your content far exceeds the average forum poster and the only thing that exceeds your content in volume is the sheer arrogance of half of the threads you start.

I also find your signature arrogant and offensive, but you just can't see it - you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

It's a shame mate because on occasion (and probably more often today than in the past) you make some decent comments so I know you're not daft. You just sometimes don't think through and get a bit over excited about things.

That's cool, you're young and you love your team. I can respect that. I just wishes you'd show others a little respect too at times.

Anyway, all the best for the run into the Finals - I wish Souths well.
Now change that f**king signature. :p

Bullsh*t. Souths and Easts has been mainly manufactured by Rusty. Your biggest rivalry has always been vs Tigers. Those who remember 69 know the truth. You only passed puberty since the Book of Feuds.Re your beloved ANZ - lets see how much you love it when your home semi is played at the SFS because ANZ would prefer to honour it's agreement with the Swans

Hate the stadium and you won't ever see me pay for that stadium, there is nothing around the stadium to eat, the pubs serve mid strength rubbish....and most importantly you are way too far away from the action. You get better value at the SFS.

I don't mind watching footy there, as long as the crowd number isn't too small.
