BBQ

Rumour/article on Fox that the Sharks are stalling on upgrading BBQ's contract. Allegedly sounding out availability of Moylan. WTF?? They couldn't possibly be that crazy, could they? BBQ should be top priority along with Fifita. I have faith in Lyall, Flanno, et al.

The club has changed.

Let's also not forget that it isn't always the clubs call.

Everyone blames the club when a good player leaves.

Probably won't have too much room to move for 2018 with Lewie and Gal both wanting to go around again but should back-end him nicely for 2019 as a reward for his effort and importance to the side. Hopefully young Flange and Brailey mark 2 should be right to go by 2020.

As has been said many times, it's premature talking dollars and cents when the salary cap for 2018 is still unclear.

Once that is known then I'd expect the club and Maloney to talk upgrade and extension. As it stands right now he's on the books for 2018.

/thread.

Pitty the woman (or man) in your life.

Does everything have to be so critical & judgemental?

Whilst Maloney would be a great loss, we could do way worse than Moylan as a replacement.

Maloney isn't a mercenary club-hopper. He will stay if we want to keep him. We should.

Yes he is. Has always followed opportunity and money...if he wasn't, he wouldn't be threatening to leave his contract early for more cash. I don't blame him for it, but he's certainly no loyalist...will give his all whoever he plays for, but the colour of the Jersey means shit to him.

I'd be worried about him being distracted at this end of the season...we should be sorting this deal out ASAP.

Yes he is.

Professional. Sensible. Yes.
Mercenary. Greedy. No.

All parties would be foolish to fail to correctly identify his relevant value in context of the current market environment.

If: Hunt = $1.2M, Dugan = $1M, Holmes = $.85M

Please.

Was more than happy to sign on for the extra year he was after just 18 months ago. No so sensible or professional with that deal then?
