I would prefer 10 mins of extra time, and then golden point. Golden try could take forever - it took 40 mins for a try to be scored in the second half

I don't agree with the way we approached the game in the 2nd half but he does have a point about golden point, it's okay for regular season games to be decided like that (they have a similar rule in the NHL regarding shootouts, in the finals there are no shootouts).. but this was a grand final

surely you want the best team to win based on merit not whoever can kick the first field goal

IMO if GP is good enough for any regular season NRL game, semi final game, it's good enough for the decider.

To be fair to Bennett, he's always been anti golden point, win or lose. There is a clear case for 5 minutes each way, then go into golden point. Having a replay next weekend is ridiculous though.

Only feels so 'unfair' because it was over after 30 seconds due to the Broncos denying themselves an opportunity.

I completely agree with Bennett regarding golden point, I think especially in a grand final it should be set periods of extra time until a winner is crowned
I hate golden point in regular season games too, nothing wrong with a draw


But I can only imagine how the LOLz would come streaming in if Stuart had that presser. At one point Wayne says "no I'm not bitter and twisted, do I sound like I'm bitter and twisted?" Yeah I saw that part of the press conference quoted, and credit to him for saying it really. Was just curious if he made the same comments after a win as well. Would've been hard to front the media after that loss.
