The next two QLD teams should be Ipswich and Sunshine Coast. And by Sunshine Coast and Ipswich I mean teams that play in and represent Sunshine Coast and Ipswich. None of this vague, corporate kpi type shit of being named the or after the whole state, or abstract ‘catchments’ to make your bid seem more appealing to morons.

But prior to this, Perth, Adelaide and Christchurch should be addressed. However I fear our game’s continuous QLD tunnel vision will make it not so.

and RL has existed in WA for 75 years and just drew a 43k crowd. Its not like we are talking about a city that has no history and no fanbase is it?

Rugby league was introduced to Victorians 119 years ago!

Just under 84k fans attended a state of Origin match at the MCG in 2013.

The 43k crowd was for a double header.

What's the record for a regular NRL game in Perth?

AFL keeps us running scared, which is just where they want us.

Ever? 25k for our own club,
in recent years sold out HBF stadiums 20,300 for visiting clubs

and Melbourne Storm is now in the top 1-5 NRL clubs across most metrics. Go figure!

That didnt answer my question. if a seagulls fan wont support Dolphins because of traditional rivalry why would they support Easts?

I never said they would support Easts, but I'll bite. I've been a Seagulls fan for years. I'll support Easts because I've lived in their catchment all of my life.

You are basically using the same argument that ended us up with 9 clubs in Sydney and has NS claiming there readmission would bring 200k fans back to NRL!

So what if Brisbane does end up like Sydney?

You're not in a position to whinge because you're in favour of keeping the Super League as it is. The smallest Sydney club has a larger fanbase than England's biggest club.

Melbourne Storm have been glued to the top four on the premiership ladder for the bulk of their existence. Their games draw an average of 16k at MRS and 30k viewers on 9Gem in Melbourne. Lions draw about 10k more attendees at the Gabba and 18k more TV viewers in Brisbane with a team that has spent the bulk of the last 2 decades at the bottom.od the ladder. You really haven't thought this through.

Imagine how low Melbourne's fanbase would be if they were losers like the London Broncos?

haha, you just spat the dummy and said you'd never support Easts because you didnt like their proposed brand!

So like Sydney fans you'll only support a club in your region? Haha youve been saying for years Sydney has too many clubs and is selfish merkins, now you want Brisbane to be same? Hypocrite.

Thats just a lie, I'm all for expansion clubs in SL, but they need to be sustainable. Problem in UK is there isnt the money in the game there for new club start ups.
Id love to see London, Toulouse and Wales in SL and viable.

1. AFL and NRL metrics are different, its well noted that AFL clubs, be it heartland or expansion, draw much larger crowds than NRL clubs. Storm are not orphans in this regard. Would you say Broncos are a failure as they dont have the crowds or membership of WC Eagles? of course not, its a dumb argument.
2. AFL has spent a lot more resource growing the game in Qlnd than NRL has in Vic. You reap what you sow
3. For the good of the game lets hope Melbourne never ends up in that position.

There's no evidence that "laws of diminishing return" applies to Brisbane 3. People used the same argument about Brisbane 2, FWIW. God how they were wrong!
no one said this, stop putting forward this false argument. The majority of League followers have advocated for a 2nd Brisbane team ever since the Crushers were folded. The only ones who were against it were people within certain clubs and maybe some very selfish Broncos fans (which there are plenty of). The popular narrative within RL circles since the early 2000s has been that Brisbane should have two teams and that Suncorp stadium should have more games.

I'm sure Brisbane 3 would be financially sustainable and rate well on TV but to think they will get the same level of fanfare and support as the Dolphins, especially so soon after they entered is fanciful. The Dolphins are trying to poach Ezra Mam as we speak. Do you think the Broncos (or the Dolphins or Titans) will want another competitor on their patch so soon? They will fight tooth and nail to stop it from happening.

If they get mam that's 3 star Broncos players they'll have poached in one year. Fanciful to think Broncos are really going to let another competitor in lol

They already are by offering a grant $5mil over cap. That makes any club, including expansion ones, far more viable. The rest is in the business case and if it stacks up then great, if it doesnt then we shouldnt be going there, where ever 'there' is.
We have a pretty good idea what that looks like:
14-15,000 crowd avg, 20k plus members, $5-10mill in corporate sales and sponsors.

So team needs to keep winning to survive?! Call twiggy or go away..

Lol, next expansion will be east tigers. News own broncos who will fall in line as new team will mean more money for foxtel. Dolphins will be unaffected by Logan / ippy team. Ur fear campaign is a joke..

There's more fans in Brisbane willing to support a third team with their money than there are in Adelaide and Perth jumping on board to support their own, dickhead.

I'm sure you've got some evidence of that?

The introduction of the Dolphins led to 40k more members and an increase of 300k fans attending NRL games in Brisbane.

Titans had the 2nd highest attendances in their first 2 years too.

Idiots like you said Brisbane never needed a second team because everyone who follows rugby league is either a Broncos fan or supports another team.

I'm sure you can quote me on that right? Why do you constantly lie about the opinions of other posters?

Now the argument has been to switched to Brisbane doesn't need a third team because everyone supports the Broncos, Dolphins or some one else.

Actually I didn't switch any argument. I pointed out how stupid your logic is.

You're boring and stupid.

Not my fault you keep making dumb arguments.

Why would Foxtel want teams from Adelaide and Perth if there's already a large amount of people in these cities watching the game on Fox League?

Why would Foxtel want teams in Brisbane if there's already a large amount of people in the city watching the game on Fox League?

Introducing a team could lead to some people unsubscribing so they can attend matches.

Introducing another team in Brisbane could lead to some people unsubscribing so they can attend matches.

By the way, did you really write this dumb shit in the same post that you talked up how many fans attended Dolphins matches?

You never thought of that because you're a f**kwit like the dyslexic dullard of Cairns.

You never thought of that because you are as dumb as wb1234.

What a tedious way of posting. Just respond in paragraphs. This is so hard to follow.
